Well even though nobody cares about this game anymore, I did a bit of research on invincibility frames I wanted to post here. Basically I counted the amount of invincibility frames every character has when backdashing, doing a quick recovery and during a lineshift recovery. Also I counted the amount of upper body invincibility frames for each character during an AB attack.
Quick recovery invincibility is the same for most characters, but a few have different values:
13: Sokaku
12: Hon-Fu
11: Everyone else
8: Laurence
Things get quite a bit more varied with backdashes
40: Bob (!)
31: Xiangfei
29: Hon-Fu
26: Chonshu
25: Geese
24: Chonrei
23: Joe
20: Kim, Krauser, Franco, Andy, Rick
19: Mary, Sokaku, Cheng, Terry, Tung, Duck, Mai
17: Yamazaki, Billy, Laurence
Lineshift recovery:
35: Franco, Krauser
34: Cheng, Geese, Yamazaki, Laurence, Sokaku, Joe
33: Rick, Terry, Kim, Bob, Billy
32: Andy, Tung, Duck, Hon-Fu
31: Chonrei, Xiangfei, Chonshu, Mai
25: Mary
AB upper body invincibility
13: Mai
12: Duck, Hon-Fu
10: Billy, Rick
9: Joe, Terry, Andy, Krauser
8: Tung, Yamazaki, Laurence, Cheng
7: Sokaku, Kim, Bob, Geese, Chonrei

Also, every character gets one invincibility frame when coming from the back plane and one after a taunt ends (?), no matter if you cancel it or not. Command grabs are invincible on startup.
Another strange bit of data is that characters have visible get-hit boxes even when they are fully invincible. This is the first time I see something like that. I counted the frames based on a “muteki” (invincible) indicator you can turn on in the dip switch menu.

one of these days ima get back on 2df and play this. been meaning to for so long, but been hella busy.

I can get this game to work on GGPO using the savestate function if anyone wants to play it on there since its not on 2DF anymore.
It would be in the Samurai Shodown 2 room. (since no one ever really plays in there)

Rename the old samsho2_ggpo.fs savestate in your savestate folder to something else so you tell them apart or still be able to play Samsho 2.
Then put the downloaded savestate in your savestate folder.
Now Real Bout 2 should load up whenever you play Samsho 2 in the Samsho 2 room.
To be able to enter the Samsho 2 room without having the rom just make an empty zip and name it samsho2.zip and put it in the roms folder.

I’m not sure if that chanel was drop in this thread but i don’t think so. That channel on youtube deserves so much more views because the matchs upoaded and the level skill are the best i have ever seen (especially chonrei, xianfei, krauser matchs) and there some awesome finds for each characters (advanced kara cancels, secret combos, reset, etc.). Please watch, add on favorite, and give that channel the popularity it deserves :

This race are always so dedicate on small detail. My ggpo connection comes very slow with European region player. But I appreciate what kenuran have done. Good job mate.:clapdos:
