I’m thinking of getting a PS4 or Xbox One. Not sure which system to get yet.

I’d read up on it if you’re going to pick up MCC. They are still ironing out bugs and online issues with the game. Sounded like a mess.
You could always wait 'till E3 and TGS to see which one you should go with, and I’m sure there’ll be bundles this holiday season on top of all that. I’m on the fence as well.
I held out on getting the new consoles because I wasn’t sure which one would have the games that I wanted. It’s all about the console exclusive games. PS4 has JRPG’s, USF4, SFV, the Uncharted series, and games that are supposedly going to be performing constantly at 60 fps. I’m not sure what the Xbox One has exclusive that’s good but I do like FPS games. I read up on the whole MCC thing and that multiplayer experience is a hot mess lol.
Apparently Microsoft has a deal with Activision on COD DLC releases. Xbox One versions of games like COD will be getting their DLC made available for purchase first a month or so before the PS4 versions. I believe that’s how it was in the previous generation of consoles (Xbox 360 and PS3) too.
I like FPS, RPG, and fighting games. Just like you, I’m still on the fence on purchasing these new consoles.

There was speculation that Sony got the exclusive marketing rights to COD, like they did with Destiny and Star Wars Battlefront, and that it’s going to be something they officially announce at E3, which would be pretty big. I think it’ll be tit-for-tat between them honestly but. I think the FPS crowd mostly migrated to the PS4, but that’s only talk on the internet and how people were pissed about MS’s initial policies. I don’t think MCC helped in that regard, but maaaaaybe Halo 5 will be big for them.
I’m waiting to see where Platinum ends up the most, really. I would look at the 60 fps closer since devs like Naughty Dog said they were “aiming for 60” but then later came out saying to the graphic fidelity they were looking for, had them at 30 fps.
Regardless it should be a cool couple years for the twins. I’m excited to see E3 and TGS.
If you want fighting games, then PS4. Besides SFV, there’s also Guilty Gear Xrd and Skullgirls 2nd Encore on PS with a low likelihood of a X1 release currently. X1 is getting Blazblue though, and Killer Instinct has continued to thrive.
FPS… PS4. Mainly because they typically have higher res and there’s a bigger install base to play with. X1 does have the DLC thing going for it.
RPGs… that’s a little more even. But no question the JRPGs will be on PS4 first, if not exclusively.
I have both consoles. I didn’t really touch my PS4 for close to a year because the wi-fi was terrible. I got a new router and everything has been fine with it.
Both consoles have pretty good features.
Fighters - PS4 trumps.
RPG’s - PS4 has both the superior JRPG’s and Whitey’s RPG.
Shooters - PC. But if you really have to play on pad, get the PS4.
Sports - No difference between the two.
Racers - PS4. Confirmed that last-gen racing wheels are compatible.
MMO’s - PS4 has FFXV aka the GOAT MMO.
Shit exclusives - Xbone has you covered on pleb shit like Halo, Gears, and Tomb Raider.
Make the decision for yourself, son.

You’re better off going to the PS4 and Xbox One subreddits on Reddit. Less of the biased bullshit from people that don’t know anything about what a console has to offer, yet always like talking bad about it.
We don’t even know if Scalebound is gonna make it this year or not. But Microsoft has at least Halo 5, Forza 6 and maybe Rise of the Tomb Raider. Sony has Until Dawn aaand…uh…Godzilla? for Q2 right now…oh wait no I forgot about God of War 3 Remastered for a moment. I da know about you but personally right now Xbone has a slight edge for the second half in terms of announced exclusives. This could easily change after E3 but I’d say people who own Xbones at the moment have something to look talk about for the second half.

To be brutally honest, neither console is worth buying right now. If you want better gaming, get a PC. Neither console has enough good exclusive games out yet to warrant the cost.
