Cool if I can help in anyway let me know.
Gannon, If you can swing over to TCNJ tomorrow(Saturday, March 17, 2012) we’ll talk.
I have spoken with Yestercade, and we have a date set. Layout of where everything going is still being worked out.
Equipment/staff/etc. will be discussed tomorrow.
Things are looking good for Central Jersey.
That’s really good to hear because there is no where to play around here. I can’t make it tcnj seeing as today is my birthday but if you guys need it I can bring a setup with ae and sfxt when things get rolling let me know.
Sup NJ!? I’m glad to see the central NJ scene is getting good and not a moment too soon cause I NEED HELP! I’ve been playing fighting games for a long time now, but just recently i’ve decided to take them more seriously. I really love playing and I don’t mind even losing to someone that is better than me, but what is really starting to get me is when I lose to someone I knew I could have beat. My win/lose ratio on and offline in AE and UMVC3 was pretty bad and SFxT is not looking much better at the rate i’m going.
I have come to the realization that I know NOTHING about fighting games and I need to throw away everything I thought I knew and start from scratch. When I say “nothing”, I literally mean I need to relearn how and when to block, how to recognize basic attacks like cross-ups, spacing, how and when to attack, etc.
I don’t really know what I need to practice on or how to practice effectively, but I do know the key to success is these four things in this order
- Know what you want!
- Have a plan, and a success coach!
- Take consistent action!
- Review the progress and renew the goals!
I know that I want to improve my overall fighting game play and knowledge. Lets face it, winning is fun and right now i’m on the verge of not having fun. My plan is to practice two to three times a week with my “success coach”!
I am writing this in an effort to either establish a scene in my area or to find one so that I can begin training with them. Hit me up if your as ready as I am to get good! I’m the Jackson area!
North Jersey (Closter/Fort Lee area) looking for locals to play with IRL or online.
Xbox and PSN tags are pjj5001.
Just got back in for SF x Tekken but I can pick up AE 2012 as well. I stopped playing after SSF4.
Hachah!
What up Jersey fam!
Just dropping this here. Lots of tournament action coming up in the new few weeks. If you can make
it out it’s going to be schweet! Lots of prizes, extras and of course competition!
BATTLE BY THE BRIDGE: FOOLS BOUT

Last time we had about 56 entrants and we’re not going anywhere! Free food, non alchoholic drinks, (but by all means you
can by alchohol it’s at Dave & Busters) ahhhh
just check the thread!
experience is your own coach. Coming out to events (or making your own), asking questions, and watching videos will improve your knowledge.
Okay, guys, we’re locked in. APRIL 1ST (SUNDAY) at Dave n Busters in Philadelphia (Theres only one) Venue $10. ALL PS3 setups.
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3: Best 3/5.
Entry fee $5.
Due to this, I’m throwing $50 onto the pot. Maybe more. Dunno. We’ll see the mood, but definitely at least $50.
Streetfighter X Tekken: Best 2/3, TWO VERSUS TWO.
I know, the Norcal stream was kinda bleh, right? We’re trying something different. Every PS3 will be able to go two on two, so form your teams before you arrive or make friends. Due to this setup, it’ll also be $5 entry. Gems are banned because Capcom lolol tourney patch lol.
Due to this, I’m throwing $50 onto the pot.
Virtua Fighter 5.
I know, not on a PS3 ;). S’okay. X-boxes will be dedicated to this game and we’ll have “real man / woman with a job” entry fee of $25. If we get an explosion of people interested (and who show), might drop it, but ignoring that, it’ll be a nice pay day for whomever enters.
Best of 5 rounds per MATCH, first to FIVE match wins. Yes. It’ll be a long set. Whoever wins will CLEARLY be the best.
Due to this, I’m throwing pride on the pot because that’s all that’s fucking needed.
BUFFET. Yes, it will exist again. You pigs. It’ll be included in the venue fee, so don’t worry. If it’s gone by the time you get there, that means your ass is late and boo hoo. There will be soft drinks available (INCLUDED) all night.
Want an alcoholic beverage? That’s fine, you can bug the server and they’ll bring it to you. 21 required blah blah blah.
See you guys at the Battle by the Bridge. We’re SETTING UP around 3 pm and casuals will be available before and, time permitting, afterwards. For you guys who can’t stay out til 1 am, the tourneys proper should be done by then, but casuals for the win.
But, BIZ? I am going to CURLEH MUSTACHE!
Kick ass there and win! Then get some sleep and come back and try to win more money
Does anyone still have Mortal Kombat Tournaments in NJ?
I have a question regarding transportation to 8 on the break from new brunswick. I plan on staying in nj for a good 5 months and I actually want to go to 8 on the break on friday nights but I dont know exactly how far it is. If it helps I actually have family that lives pretty close to the Piscataway student center on the rutgers campus. I dont know the name of the student center but its the one that the rexL campus bus drops you off at lol. Also what games are played at 8 on the break and outside of 8 on the break does anyone play in the new brunswick area. Im currently playing sf4,sfxt,umvc3 fk it I’ll play almost anything I guess.
no one really plays fighting games on friday nights. its all about tuesday. theres a good number of ppl that play at rutgers and around piscataway/edison. not a bad place to stay for competition at all. check out the break weekly event page for more info
Monday Night Fight Night is tonight (4/2/12)! Casuals start at 8:00 PM and the free-entry UMvC3 tournament starts at 9:00 PM! Here is the link to the thread - [Dec 3, 2012] Monday Night Fight Nights at Nerd Palace - South NJ (Absecon, NJ)
I play SF4, KOF13 (I just started and want to get better) and SF X Tekken
Is this fort lee monthly thing still going on? I live like right next to fort lee.
Local Battles has weeklies, on Thursdays. Been MvC3 and SFxT recently, but they’re open to demand for other games… and have run KOF and AE in the past.
How is the casual scene there? I only recently started playing fighting games again (Stopped playing after SSF4) and it’s going to be difficult for me to show up to the Thursday tourneys due to work. If i showed up there on a saturday for casuals will there be people to play with?
there will be a bunch of kof players there saturday night
cool. hope you dont mind a complete noob scrubbing it up. kof is fun but i am completely new to it.
[quote=“encore36, post: 6671850, member: 34240” I’m the Jackson area!

Awww yea Six Flags represent. I’m at school now (Glassboro, about an hour south) but this summer I would be down for some games.
Any scene at Rowan University or anywhere in Central Jersey?
