I wouldn’t bet on it.
Well I was just wondering, considering that I heard the only reason why Sega waited so long to bring it out on PS2 was that Sega was waiting for the US arcade release to come out first which was at the end of this year. But I’ll pick up the Japanese version anyways since I have a Japanese PS2 :wgrin:
But yes I do agree, there wasn’t a US widespread distribution of the game, luckily I got to play it at Planet Zero
I highly doubt the station I played on at TGS was in any way shape or form a PS2 version, demo or not.
Station at TGS? Explain more.
No one so far has noted that the kiosk blocked the window where the system is. ALL the other kiosks at the very least showed the system it was being played on. Also there were no in game menus, when start was pressed you went straight to arcade char select, and it was set to free play. All things that wouldn’t be in even a beta for a home version Sega fighter. Especially seeing the work done on VF5.
its like the “tekken 6 movie” in E3 that was just a silly movie with 5DR engine. sometimes they have nothing to show but they still want to tell you “it will come out we are working on it”.
Did it return you to the character select screen after the match was over or did it have that long ‘thanks for playing’ and then dump you back to the title screen?
You just continued arcade mode after winning in vs. No one stuck around long enough to finish the game uninterrupted. Like I said, I’m 99% sure it was an Atomiswave in there. I’m kinda mad I reported it “PS2” playable. Simply because the sticks are PS sticks doesn’t mean they’re legit. The sticks were specifically modded to have the 5 button layout too, as in they had the 6th button covered up with a standard hole cover on both sticks.

Yeah that was probably just the Atomiswave version. I am gonna miss that big ‘new challenger’ explosion in the console version.
Won’t it still be there if you play in arcade mode?
I swear, that looks like the Arcade Infinity machines when I saw those freett movies where they perform combos because it was next to Melty Blood!
Those Mr. Heart vids were hella sweet!!!
No wonder there was some Mr. Heart players in the top slots of SBO!

Cool Zen Jagi combo:

That jagi in the second match (naori vs ZEN) plays really well. It looks like such hard work for non top tiers to actually win though, lol. Also what’s with his instant kill not working near the end of the match?
Zen did a wrong combo. He should do C+D>6>D>632146D> E>D>236C+D instead.
but the first hit of the IK acually connects. I sucks that you have to hit them bang on to get it to work.
thanks for the vids by the way. It’s great to watch vids of jagi, heart and mamiya insted of the usual 2 or 3 characters.
Jagi looks good fun… :bgrin:
