-everybody- is a beast in this game.
So who here actually plays HnK?
I try to play it every week when I don’t have to go to work early the next day:tup:
I occasionally play it at AI. Mainly on weekends, but sometimes during the week as well.
Once in a blue moon, if I’m lucky, there would be a human opponent to play against. Otherwise, I just practice combos and such against the cpu.
That’s where I go play, sometimes I go on Fridays and at times some players show up.
Their sticks are shitty as fuck though, that machine was intentionally for that shooting fighter not actual fighting games!
Some people from the Walnut arcade were complaining that the button config was wrong, but that arcade is where the buttons are all screwy!
I find the sticks ok. They just need a little getting used to.
The button configuration is correct at AI. I bet those guys complaining wanted a KOF layout instead. Just because the buttons are labeled as ABCD doesn’t mean that they have to be in that order! It’s just the same as when I was back home for the summer. Those KOF-woshipping suckers had the buttons in the semi-horizontal ABCD layout, with the boost button awkwardly placed at the bottom right between B and C!
Anyway, were you there last Friday? Your sig mentions that you play as Heart, Shin, and Rei. I played against a guy alternating between the three last Friday. Maybe that was you? I was playing as Kenshiro, and we had a nice session (played 20+ matches). We didn’t talk, however, and I didn’t get a good look at the guy because it’s so dark in there.
best quote to describe a good game .
i’m not sure about shin and ken , i hardly seeing them beasting .
That was me:tup:
Those matches were sweet:bgrin:
Your Kenshiro playing is really awesome, its good because every time I face a player they always pick Thouther or Raoh. And I hate facing boring ass Thouther, possibly because of his air projectile and boring stage music:arazz:
I want to practice some more after not playing it for months.
I still can’t get used to those sticks in the HnK cab, I got used to the other sticks, even the Melty Blood sticks and the shitty old NGBC sticks, but those sticks on that cabinet gives me a problem, and a strain on my wrist. Even the veteran HnK players complained about the sticks and not able to do DP’s and supers accurately.
Oh well, I rather have loose sticks than that weird button layout!
Raises hand
Super Arcade just replaced NGBC with HnK and people are giving it a shot, myself included. I use Jagi, Shin, and Heart-sama with some Souther action for fun cause he reminds me so much of Urien.
Buttons and sticks are great.

But isn’t their button set up all messed up?
Its supposed to be
AC E
BD
I want to check out that Walnut arcade!
How hard is it to connect a CD fwd after a combo?
I saw Raoh did it with a standing D, but when I tried it so many times, it only came out once!!
The only one I can do it easily is with Mr. Heart!
Is it suppose to be a time frame thing?
To combo Raoh’s CD after far standing D, you need to perform a kara cancel. You need to do far D -> crouching D -> CD. The easiest way to achieve this is to just hold the stick down and press CD two or three times in rapid succession after connecting the far D.
Some characters can do it more easily because they can normally cancel certain frames into CD.
Actually, Raoh’s standing close C cancels into CD, but lacks range and can miss crouching characters. Makes it less handy outside of his sai loops.
Actually it’s
BCD
AE
Something like that. It actually works just fine.
Well, that’s not the “official” button layout for the game, it’s just a KOF-esque one that works for those that are used to it.
Getting used to playing HnK with this layout may end up limiting your game when playing elsewhere, mainly because you’ll have to re-adjust to the buttons everytime.
I play the game frequently on my custom cab, but hardly anyone here in Phoenix wants to give it a shot, I do have a few friends who play though. Pretty sure the official layout is
A C E
B D
I just saw FOTNS being played on the SBO6 DVD and man Shin intro is good, 2 99% naked chicks dressing him fomr the beginning.
Also who stage is it who has all women in the BG looking on as I cant believe its Judd as I swear he doesn a faggot looking move or winpose where he strips down
Thats the problem, HnK is not KOF!!!
I loved that style they gave to XI because we are used to the old Neo Geo setup.
But, Hnk is a completely different game, so it should stay the way the button setup is supposed to be.
Thats just going to make it really confusing to do combos and double button presses.
They were too lazy to reconfigure the buttons when they replaced it.
Yeah, that is Juda’s stage. By the way, Juda being gay is a wide-spread misconception. He’s actually a narcissist, much like Benimaru from KOF.
That’s nice, man. Is it a consolized AW or an actual arcade cabinet with the AW board?
I wish I had a custom cab at my disposal so I can take my time experimenting with the cast rather than sticking to one character like I’m doing now. I guess I’ll have to wait until the distant PS2 release!
also I saw SBO6 DVD and all I see Toki players do is that stupid KO super whenever they get a chance.
Plus my boy Kenshiro never seem to come trumps.
I think its class when ceratin people do super to certain characters, that the super looks different.
