Jon, ill be going to tylers poker game. i already informed him about how tournament poker should be played. also since its small buy in (5 dollars) we’re gonna be playing a winner take all. And if anyone is down we’ll play a higher limit poker tournament (with payoffs) if you’re down or we can just stick with cash games.
I will be at Tyrams for poker/whatever fighting game we play friday night. So come for the holdem and stay for the cvs2, I might make a new custom for this shit.

well tonight was pretty cool. their was a total of 4 people at the table playing poker. good job to mark for winning the poker tourney. After the poker game we had a cvs2 round robbin tourney whitch had 5 people in that tourney. $2 was the entry fee for both the poker and the cvs2 tourney. I won the cvs2 tourney. I hope more people will be able to make it next time. All in all it was a fun nite. :tup:

I basically got 98% of my stuff settled at my new place and have online access. If ya guys want, you might want to come by to my place and check it out one day. IMO it feel’s a lot better to finally have a place to live on my own.
All I really want which will be coming later on is a 35" screen TV and I’m basically set to have the console tourneys.
Sorry guy…but i have to be honest. the round robin tourney was the shit. you should just hold those at your house. small entry fee and stuff and we’ll do cvs/marvel touraments. i think more people will show up for that. As for the playing hold 'em…i dont think you should invite people over for hold 'em. i know you’re trying to learn and stuff, but wow…i was bored out of my mind. Im sorry to be so harsh, maybe if we had more people it wouldve been better…but its not just that. I dont think you really have a grasp of the game, you were making lots of mistakes that i had to point out and that really dragged the game along. i know you’re still learning, but it got annoying after a while. i think once you get a better idea of how everything goes, then game play will go smoother. try picking up some basic poker books or something. again, i apologize. also, since you were a good host and everything, i stuck it though and did my best. congrats to mark for winning the game.

whoops! i meant you should hold hold em games at your house, yet. in fact, dont jump into tournament games. play low limit cash games first, thats how i started. also pick up Helmuth’s “play poker like the pros” and/or Doyle Brunson’s “super system” two good poker books that teach you the basics are guild you along.
wow, at least you are honest. I will still have get togethers on fridays. I talked to my boy from vaccaville who plays hold em as well. He said he would be down for sure at a $5 dollar pot entrey and winner take all. cvs2 will still be after the tourney.

i have a book ill let you borrow. it’s helmuth’s Play poker like the pros. it should be a big help. and of course i didnt want to show/give off signs i was bored, that would be rude. and by the way, i play poker. i cant show emotions (lol). i have no problems helping you out or giving you tips and hints. i understand you’re just starting off and have a lot to learn.
also, if you have a game on friday…like i said, play low limit cash game before you start play tournament. you can still have small entry fee, but we’ll just give equal amount of chip to how much money they put in. $5.00 buy in = $5.00 in chips. then people can cash out whever they want or buy in as many times as they want. un-like tournament play it wont go on hours, its a lot better if you’re just starting off. so…i think that would be the best. improve your game slowly before you starting doing things like tournaments. lol…$5.00 is a bit cheap for me. i guess im too used to starting off with $20. at home games and $100. at casinos, but if we can get a good amount of people to but in with $5.00 each then the start off pot will be pretty chunky. especially with multiple buy ins, it can easily turn into a $100.00+ pot. the good thing is you can easily turn $5.00 into $30.00+ on a good night of solid play. if you play bad all you lose is $5.00 and everyone has a chance to make some money.

Umm, I don’t play much regularly anymore. I use to go to a regular house game but not anymore. I’ve been to casinos a few times and when I did I played limit poker(sucks) which is a totally different art from No Limit. I also use to play a lot online but I don’t anymore because it can be terribly frustrating for play money or real money. That’s why I just try to hook up with other peeps.
