Ive been trying not to let this stuff bother me too much. Not meaning feeling like more of an asshole than I am but the fact Ive lost a lot of cool points with NorCal community and also lost a friend or prospects of friends in my own area.
Eitherway, I just wanted to try to even defend 707 and also if any image I may or may not have anymore.
Spider-Dan its great you were able post up. It seemed like youve never get on or post up about anything in the 707 thread. Its great and also sad at the same time. You able to point out some good points or suggest great things now and in the past but it sucks it had to be about this.
Ive also seen a few other post and comments about this hostility in our(your) thread. I would like for it to be known that yes all of this shit was started because of me and also she said/he said shit.
Anyone who else reads this (A lot of you people do and just dont post) must know these guys are the coolest and nicest group of guys in this area. They may not be as proactive enough as other arcades Ive been too or been a part of but they are greatest. Most of these players are the most humble youll ever come across. Weve got guys who wouldnt mind just playing you in one game they are good at, theyll play you in other game they just might suck at to show you they welcome any kind of competition of any kind they can get. Weve got other guys, in the middle of match who would tell you what your doing wrong and what you can do to stop it. They are some other guys whod teach you combos on their characters using your character in the middle of the game. A few of guys would even give you a token if you were all out of money just to play again for competition. Ive even been out with a couple of different guys whos bought me drinks and food on separate occasions. When I first came here and I didnt have my car, a bunch of different guys gave me a ride home late nights even thou they didnt even know me. There we even times when we all just stood around and talked and didnt even play games. I hate to admit it but Ive even played DDR with guy instead of playing two games of cvs2. Ive been to a few places where, shit if you beat their ass really badly, theyd fucking cut your tires or rob your ass. The point I am trying to make, it not as hostile at all at our arcade. Yes, words are typed on srk but that shit down mean anything offline. Half these fools on here would want to really fight about crap (including myself). Its a given there is shit talking, shit talking is everywhere. Just like their humor. All of this shit is entertainment to one person or another but when it compromise friendship or group as a whole that just not right.
I know this crap was started because of me. Even when I first got here and started to post there seemed to be hostility. I think this has extended from my own cockiness, not an east coast attitude thing (Even thou must guys from the East are fucking cocky). I know its robbed off or robbed on a few people the wrong way that has extended this shit to be what it shows to be now. I was not trying to bring over any type of east coast attitude or cockiness and I was and still is trying to be more humble as you guys are. When I got here, yes I had hella attitude(or complain to much) with everyone. Some people even stop playing cvs2 because of me (or just not when I am there). You all know I did but over time I changed a little by little. I saw what its like to be a dickhead and no one likes you when you are they way. Dont think I dont know this but I always did. Anyways, seems like I am trying to defend myself at this point so I just throw this other there. Yes, its true did talk a lot of shit on srk and offline. http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1896680#post1896680
but Ive never to claim to be the best person cvs2 @ 707. I do claim to be part of the best of cvs2.
I was in the wrong not to discredit posts like these: http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2033464#post2033464 http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1914944#post1914944
I didnt even try to defend myself there. Ive never agree or disagreed to the post. By not ageing the post it looks like Just1Moe is number one and in fact I know I am not. http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2033924#post2033924
I mention Spider-Dan and Jon as being part of that list, you dont see Jons name there because, I thought jon was mike and mike was Jon. I was calling Jon mike for weeks until he corrected me in person.
In posts like this I question how good we are http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2014487#post2014487
but anywhere Ive been to or gone, I try to mention us or talk about us in a good way. http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2135540#post2135540
That last one wasnt a good example but it different from when I talk. Ive praised a lot of guys wherever I go. I always talk about how good you guys are. Like who I think has the best morrigan in the NorCal now, who is the most versatile (who can play all the other games) player at our arcade, who has the killer Terry very slimmer to arcade kid, who has the most random but effective is Blanka at tilt, that most black guys in 707 area play p groove, who has the strongest bison but refuses to place him as an r2 character, two guys who creates combos out their ass (WTF combos) and shows them off to me for fun, who has the strongest Dslim Ive ever played against and wouldnt want to play against ever, guys who you must play if you just wanna have fun against and its not about winning, and finally but not least, whos the great player at the 707 in cvs2 of all time. I didnt name any names but you guys know who you are or know who I am talking about.
I just want to apologize again to you guys for making any of you look bad or portray us being hostile.
Yes if I did play you on the good side and lost, its because your just too good and as far as my money matches, when I played arron, and beat him the first game, I asked if he wanted to switch sides (because I was on the goodside) and when I lost, I didnt ask him to switch again, I stayed on the bad side. My other money match I still played on the shitty side both games but that didnt help because that guy Will Willow was on another playing level than I was at the time and possibly still is. I learned a few things in that tournament. I would post up about whatve learned but I gotta go back to work.
IMO trying to post either on SRK or TZ online and attempting not to hurt other members or the community is a pain in the ass. I even screwed up in the past posting on SRK or any other forum and it’s really hard to tell what kind of person he/she really is in real life. When during online, they post the complete opposite and other people think very lowly of him/her.
I just read up catching up on the situation since I don’t have much time reading up on videogaming drama. I’ve learned my lesson the hard way years ago and the drama is just not worth the price of losing friendships over a videogame. All of us do get upset or frustrated from time to time when competing against other players playing 2-D, 3-D, or whatever videogame that were competing. However I believe we do overreact a bit when it comes to shit talking or someone that is being cocky online or offline. That is when the drama can become very ugly. Who know’s how many times I have apologized for overreacting from my frustrations back then competing, but I still hope to keep my friends and continue having a good time at the arcades while we still can.
Anyways this kind of drama has gone on long enough and we should be concentrating on becoming better players. Dan’s advice is very good and right onto the point of this matter. I accept your apology Just1Moe online wise and I do consider you a friend that I can talk to about CvS2 or whatever topic that were talking about hehe.
WOW, very powerful man. well said. sounds like it came right from the heart.
I gree with yushiro. you have nothing but my respect and freindship just1mo. I consider you to be a tru freind and a great gamer.
All that i sleft now boys is that we turn our attention on to march the 19th. dr.b said he has been wanting to make it to a 707 tilt tourney for some action. Lets start training hard so that we dont get overran on by dr.b.

and tyler wats up wit 1 token wednesdays. a go or no?
Well, I play on both sides and don’t really notice a difference, so I’m not sure which side is “good” or “bad.”
In any case, the event I was referring to was when you played me (you were 1P, I was 2P) and I won, you were acting like the joystick was messed up; then you played Tyram and he was 1P, you were 2P, and you still lost. So I was a little… annoyed… that you tried to implicate equipment failure in our match, when (to be honest) it really wasn’t even that close.
Under normal circumstances, I would have just passed it off as getting mad over a loss (which happens to everyone) but in this case, after all the talk about best players, it made the event stand out more than usual.
And as far as any comparisons go, I’ll help you guys out with a little more advice:
I suck at CVS2.
Seriously. I play N-groove and I can’t even roll cancel! I am not good at the game. This is why when I play against someone good, I don’t win. At all. Ever.
So based on the above statement, I think it’s quite fair to say that if you are a person that loses to me on any sort of regular basis, you suck at CVS2, too.
Now does this mean that I’m trying to demoralize you guys? Far from it. I fully support your efforts to improve your skill. But what it does mean is that unless you can beat me easily, no words about how good you are should be coming out of your mouth. Do you think that it’s a coincidence that the one person who can most consistently RC (TAUNT) is also the person with the best win rate in the area? (no disrespect to TAUNT)
It’s one thing for everyone to sit around and play K or P or whatever and say that we don’t need to learn RCs, and maybe that might be true. But unless 707 players learn how to fight against RCs, we will continue to get whored by any player that shows up to our tournaments and knows how to do them. Most Tilt players can’t fight against RCs for sh*t, because no regulars there are any good at doing them, so no one gets any experience.
So in other words, if you guys want to seriously try to improve your skill level, you need to learn how to consistently RC. If no one uses them, then you won’t learn how to fight against them, and you’ll (we’ll) stay at the same skill level forever.
Spider-Dan, Spider-Dan, Spider-Dan… Why dont you post more often? Eitherway, that is the truth about RC’s experience needed. At any case, for the guys who do use rolling grooves, they can learn to do it or just learn how to fight against it. It only makes the person who does it have more of a fair advantage over the person who’s not doing it. When youre at a higher level of play you dont need to RC. Justin Wong used P groove at the last break tournament (EastCoast). Also when he plays rolling grooves he never RC’s, apparently he doesnt know how or never tried to learn it. Only point I am trying to make is, if you rely on RC’s it could be your downfall in some instances but at the same time it’s FREE to do. I think if we played against better people we too would eventually get better.
FTR - you dont suck Spider-Dan.
I also need experience playing against morrigan. She beats me for free.
lol…“show-boat” everyone was a “show-boat” that day.
RJ: RC everything. im gonna start calling you “RC” from now on.
[RC electrity +/- cammy far s.fk] = too good
George: K-iori crap
jon: “OTG” 'rog combo off death. wth was that?
mark: never-ending terry meter + combos
[dude 1]: crazy N-bison stuff
me: i dont know…i guess its natural talent. (ha ha)
jack: um…good game.
no one really had the upper hand the whole night, too evenly matched. it just became a “who can top what the previously player just showed off.” like jon would say; everyone was “dropping the sauce” that night.
i nominate myself as being the worst CvS player in the 707…competition-wise. i can never really hold on to a winning streak or my win/lose varies too much…i could lose to an OCV, but then turn around and comeback with an OCV of my own with the same team. so…i dont know, at least i try my best…
so…im the worst competive player in 707. im like kyosuke, if i get the “feeling” i can hold my own, but its never good enough to rack up the wins.
…i am dope when it comes to finding random (and useless) stuff…
Learn how to RC…it will help you play against it when you know how to do it yourselves. Jawan, good luck trying to get practice against Morrigan. I think there’s only a few decent batgirl players left, now that Buk is gone. Spider-Dan, Me, Van, Hugo Chris, and that random C-Morrigan guy.
It’s funny you say that. That last tournament at SJSU that you didnt play in, this guy used Chang, he raped my Sak and Blanka. Who uses chang? WTF? In a national or visiting a tournanment outside your arcade people do and use some interesting stuff. You guys should see that vid.
Anyone interested in going to SVGL tonight with my girl and kid? I gotta go pick something up in Sunnyvale and figured Ill stop by SVGL while I am out there.
