To hell with Hanzo/Fuma. It’s up with Shermie/Mai. Hanzo and Fuma annoy me. I bet Washizuka/Kim can take them down. And my Kim is godly. Hold dat.

I don’t really mind sharing knowledge so:

HAOHMARU

  • Can cancel stand far B into anything, which makes him good in the corner for a little pressure (db+B, qcb+A, s.B, qcb+A, s.B, qcf+A, C, so on and so forth until their guard is like 75% missing). Punish anything with s.B into DA for fun, hypercharged Chonrei.
  • Did they just fuck something up or did they just jump back? Did you just lure them into jumping? Do you have huge balls? Stand far C. You win!
  • His “rollcancel” uppercut (Shin Kougetsuzan) punishes harder than stand C for close-up screwups. Sure, it’s a little bar, but more damage for a little bar > less damage in just about situation.
  • Can Kougetsuzan into HCB,F+A, then Shin Kougetsuzan to juggle (and even link in another HCB,F+A) if they are in the corner. Persona, you’re a hero to mankind.
  • ABC activation pushes people the fuck off.
  • HCB+D unblockable as they’re jumping in when a character dies. Worse if you’re ABC’ed or even Hypercharged (or, in really, really ugly cases … both). Oh tragedy!
  • Jump C beats out a lot of random shit, mostly as long as you’re in the air first.

CHONREI

  • Stand far C cancels into anything and has some pretty good priority. Abuse.
  • No range? No problem. Jump C has moronic priority. Abuse.
  • C, C, DP+C. Land this off fuckups and watch people cry.
  • C, C, QCBx2+C is fine too…
  • c.B, QCF+B, throw, QCFx2+C. It’s like Aegis Reflector hi/lo setups, except the Aegis doesn’t push you away! Mix up the c.B into a fireball to make them get hit by dumb shit for figuring you were actually going to roll that time!
  • No time to swap Haohmaru for death unblockable? Just put a QCFx2+C in their way and make them land into it.
  • Finishing something with an unsafe poke that can cancel? QCB+B to get away, or QCF+B if you’re feeling sneaky.
  • Close A, B, C is a pretty decent string.
  • If someone’s jumping but they won’t land right on top of you, QCBx2+C is bundles of fun for everyone.
  • Your crouching A, crouching B and stand far A are deceptively good.
  • Stand far B and D are amusing. Poke that shit down.

Remember, Haohmaru gets you in the corner. Chonrei keeps you there.

Also, Azagtoth plays Fuuma / Robert. That team is fucking rude. Fuuma builds copious amounts of bar while hurting you the fuck up with stupid ass, high priority links. Then Robert comes in and links in the super off fucking c.A. Plain genius. :lol:

My friend uses Fuma/Chonrei…good team…he uses Chonrei just as you have posted straight RBFF style…

Some observation notes thus far on your post…feel free to interject…

-Haoh’s st.bxxDA is hard to hitconfirm…the windown is very small…(To DAxxSRK super in corner)
-With that being said if you train your opponent I can see how you can set up the st.b to hcf,b+p Grandmaster Haoh Sam Sho 2 (Not CVS2 folks the BIG SLASH in CVS2 was in SAM SHO 2 FIRST!!) Slash Super!
-Off st. b a good pressure tactic is the st.b to “blue rush”(escape AB mid-attack) to whatever you want…good for changing things up…I rarely see people use the Blue Rush!!!
-Of. St. b also DP+C or Persona’s DP+AB~C works…does the same damage though.

More observation notes:

-While Haoh’s far st. C is great for AA/whiffing etc you do need to know the match ups…and know that it can be punished pretty damn easily whiffed!!!(With or without tapping F,F after blocking) Vs. Kim abusing St. C is a bad idea if he’s got meter and in the air…Kim can do his air Ranbu super and go behind a whiffed St. C and beat Haohmaru with it. Something apparently I’m sure Lilman has used against you…hehe.
-Kim is a tough matchup for Haohmaru, esp when he has meter and he is right over Haohs head…
-Yes ABC Activation is true to form like Sam Sho…the Rage Explosion…but I have yet to test its combo breaker capabilities…because in SSIV/V/VI, Rage Explosion’s main purpose serves as a combo breaker/guard break!!!
-Far St. b to slide is a good high/low COMBO also…

  • A Take off the Persona HAOH combo-St. D links to db+bx2xDP+CxxHCB,F+C then the rest is as Nothingxs has it to finish the Persona combo…its sick damage!!!
    -The wakeup mindgame to that combo up is easy…cr. db+b(x2 hit confirmed ala Kens cr. lk in 3s),st. b, throw…slide…there you go…you can set it up if you want!!!

yea i use that. The timing is a little strict out in the open, but in the corner u can have the worst timing on the planet and still have it connect.

Oh yeah man I know…I have better luck out of the corner for whatever reason…

Chonrei
-C,C, Dp+C doesnt work on everyone. I’ve had a helluva hard time connecting it on AI.
C,Cxxf,f+A/C is a very good very safe combo/string…USE IT!
-The trick to doing C,C qcbx2C super is to do the chain combo FULLY FIRST NOT INPUTTING ANY DIRECTIONS…then do the super after the last hit connects…if not you will get his charge up move…which is great if the combo is blocked…mix that up with fireball off a blocked C,C.
-Also with the Cr. Axxroll/fireball mixup mix in cr. ax2xxDA…
-Hitconfirm C,C/A,B,C Always!!! If it is blocked you have these options: short/far Roll, fireball super, fireball, and some others!!
-Having problems with C,C?? Close st. D works to combo the same way!!!
-Corner wakeup combo to Trap:St. D(2 hits) DP+CxxSuper cancel to Fireball Super so that they wakeup having to block!!

I do it only to punish when they’re a little far and s.B WILL hit but the dash for a DA will let them recover (Haohmaru steps forward a LOT after s.B is cancelled).

You can trick anyone into anything, the thing is being patient enough to do it.

Probably because it takes a lot of bar. Makes for an interesting s.B, AB, db+B mixup deal, though.

DP+AB~C has that juggle hit that annihilates people for absolutely no reason.

Kim is a war of attrition. I just poke him with st.B and hope I don’t die.

It doesn’t break combos, but you can use it as a wake up move if people are RTSDing you.

I try to not DA with Chonrei for whatever reason. I find that having him on Autocharge 24/7 is a lot more useful than having Haohmaru pumped (he does a fuckton of damage as is). I only do DAs for punishing when I’m GOING to tag out.
