Aaron, KOH, or anyone else that knows about soldering sticks - The R1 button on my custom PS2 stick is starting to go. I already have some spare buttons but the problem is not only are the buttons soldered in but the grounding is a single immobile wire connected to every button (crappy cell phone pic). What I’m wondering is, should I have someone replace the button for me or is it enough of a pain in the ass that I may as well just get my TE stick dual modded?

Damn I really like that stick too. When you say the button is starting to go what do you mean exactly? Like is it only working intermittently or is the spring getting dull? If its just the spring you won’t have to take the whole button out to fix the problem. If its going in and out intermittently it’s probably a bad soldering job. I mean look at that ground, it just a bare wire copper wire, running allovertheplace, lol. I have a multimeter and a nice soldering station if you want me to take a look at it.
working intermittently. It’s been happening for a bit, but it was rare enough that I thought I might’ve just been messing up… happening more often now though. I’ve had the stick for a few years so the button might just be done… but yeah, that’d be shweet if you took a look at it. I’ll be at Gameyard this thursday, I’ll bring it with me. Thanks Jake
