How is Nic Cage typecast? The Weatherman compared to Bad Lieutenant, Face Off compared to The Family Man. Typecasting has to do with role, not the way an actor acts. Mark Hamill was typecast in that people only thought of him for sci fi protagonist roles, and now for villainous voices. Hugh Grant is ONLY ever cast as English Love Interest in romcoms. Jackie Chan is only foreign Martial Artist. Most people in the thread get it but some are mistaken. Jack Nicholson may act a certain way, but he isn’t type cast, he has been Protagonists and Antagonists in multiple genres.
