I’ll continue to add match up studies on here once I get some feedback.

so uh let me know if you like what you see.

I know there is probably some stuff missing so just lemme know what is…

Abel: When fighting Abel it’s good to know that he has alot of moves that have higher priority over your moves. His tornado throw is probably one of the moves that you should watch out for the most. so look out.

Things to know: You shouldn’t always be aggressive against Abel, simply because once you get out of your groove and the tide turns in his favor, your screwed. Also know that a well timed tortilla will beat Abel’s roll and foward dash on wakeup too.But also beware if Abel backdashes its a free tornado throw as well, so thats no good. another tool for Abel as well as everyone else is to run stop to bait backdash and then punish with fajita buster, as well as run stop slide. also know that if you slide and he does wake up tornado throw your gonna get grabbed out of the slide and if he blocks the slide its a free tornado throw too, so its best to not start off with tortillas because Abel’s first thought will most likely be “I need to backdash” your gonna want Abel to prove to you that he can block and then from there bring the fajita and tortilla mixups; always be looking out for random wheel kicks too, you can punish those with Light kick guacamole leg. so as long as you know your options and keep the mixup game flowing and keep scoring knockdowns and capitalizing off of them you’ll be fine. Also note, that its always good to have meter. you can simply keep your distance and build meter with Light kick guacamole leg; Having meter gives you the upper hand in this fight as well because if you get caught in a foward kick dash blockstring you can ex habenero dash to tortilla or jump away.

Wrap up: Basically, just keep your distance until you have some meter to work with, once you have meter you can go on the offense; but remember to know your options and when to turn the heat down abit, but once you score that knockdown turn the heat back up and read him like a book, know his every move and most of all concentrate and play smart.

Balrog: Balrog can be a tough match up if he knows what he’s doing, I feel that El fuerte should always rush balrog down but then again everyone has their own preference. I always recommend Ultra 2 against Balrog.

Things to know: Balrog has three moves you should really watch out for. The first is dash low smash, and the second is dash swing blow and the third is turn punch. When fighting balrog you should really refrain from overusing EX run because both of those moves are armor break, and any move that has armor break is BAD for fuerte because it kills some of he EX run options. Once you score a knockdown try to bait a headbutt from him or cross up tostada press him.

However moves that can be focus absorbed or EX runned through are:

Dash Straight
Dash Upper
Dash Straight(low)
Buffalo headbutt

absorbing those attacks and hitting them with the focus attack calls for big damage;always punish with RSF. remember to always constantly switch sides when you knock him down so he loses charge and gets his options cut in half. after that his options are: Turn punch, backdash, focus, block, and Buffalo headbutt. so be sure to always bait when you think he’s gonna do something reckless, and when you think he’s gonna sit there like a sheep; turn up the heat. and if you happen to bait a turn punch always remember its a free reversal Ultra 2 off block. along with a blocked dash low smash. Always remember to have some meter when rushing Balrog down.

Wrap up: Always have meter when rushing down. Constantly switch sides so he cant maintain charge. lay off EX runs and focus attacks. and bait sparingly

**Bison:**Bison could be a rough match up for Fuerte sometimes. Psycho crushers can be a pain but the match up can also be fun. First thing right off the bat is that I recommend Fuerte’s Ultra 1 against Bison. As for why, I’ll explain that in the “Things to know” section.

**Things to know:**Bison’s st.roundhouse can give you some problems if you get cornered, along with his st.foward.
If your playing an experienced Bison they’ll most likely just zone you, and if they get the chance they’ll corner you and bring the st.roundhouses and fowards along with tick throws and hell they’ll throw in cross ups too. Your main goal should be scoring a knockdown! now, once you’ve scored the knockdown you have a few options:

 1. You could risk throwing out a tortilla and having Bison teleport or he wont and you’ll catch him.

 2. You could throw out a tostada press and he’ll teleport or he wont and you’ll catch him

 3. You could run > stop > slide and he’ll teleport or he wont and you catch him.

I feel that the best option is 3 again it’s all about reading your opponent, knowing their next move. back on topic I feel that 3 is one of the better options because lets say you slide and he teleports, you’ll be right next to him ready for a grab and then from the grab you score a knockdown, therefore opening another chance for a mix up. or lets say you slide and then you catch him, from there you can corpse hop him so he loses charge. (another key thing to do against Bison is to always switch sides on knockdown in order to make him lose charge) You can also safe jump fierce and input the foward run so if Bison teleports then you can slide but if the J.Fierce is block you can follow up with a mix up as well.

Now, lets say your getting destroyed and you get ultra. This is where ultra 1 comes in handy. Score a knockdown, you must start baiting! a good way to bait is to quickly run >stop or run > backdash. This makes your opponent think your gonna do something. Most likely your opponent is thinking about one of these things, if not then you’ll be fine because you baited and you’ll be blocking. also note that any move xx shower kick will take you on the other side of bison you can see it happen on this match:

1.“oh ok, Im gonna teleport to get away from him”

 1. “Wakeup ex-psycho crusher!” in hopes of hitting you or just getting away.

 2. or backdash, or block. but usually its one of the first two.

Now, for option 1: you bait, they teleport. The INSTANT you see purple from the teleport, activate ultra 1 and hold foward to get the max distance from the ultra. you will land on Bison no matter what.

option 2: if they decide to wake up ex-psycho crusher you’ll be blocking which will resort in them crossing you up. once they cross over, activate ultra. now, the timing for this can be very tricky so you just have to be patient, when they cross over you hold foward after activating ultra. You’ll end up catching Bison off the end of his PC. Heres a video demonstrating this by your’s truly

**Wrap up:**I think that knowing those ultra punishes and those tips will make your fight against Bison so much easier and remember to always have meter to get out of tight situations! thank you for reading, if you have any questions or feedback leave a reply. I’d love you help anyone that is in need

Blanka: I find Blanka to be a very tough battle for people who dont have alot of experience against him,I guess he could be described as an up hill battle for fuerte, but then again so is everyone else in the game imo. I just feel that Blanka sticks out more than usual along with a few others. Once you’ve read this write up I’m pretty sure you’ll find this Match up a little more easier, even if its the slightest bit. I recommend Ultra 2 against Blanka.

**Things to know:**There are a few things that I find handy to know when fighting Blanka.

 1. Reversal Ultra 2 off body slide

 2. Tortilla beats electricity

 3. Quesadilla bomb beats electricity

 4. focus attack punish off blocked ultra 1 (I’ll elaborate on that more)

 5. Can be ex guacamole legged out of ultra

 6. CANNOT be corpse hopped

 7. slide beats Blanka ball.

Those things come in handy when fighting Blanka. The best way to beat Blanka imo is to get life lead and and keep your distance, and then just punish whenever you score a knockdown. Using safe tortillas work wonders too (as soon as you land a tortilla immediately perform 3 forward dashes and then perform another tortilla. be sure to run back as far as possible and then get max distance on the tortilla.)Always remember to be constantly switching sides on Blanka when you score a knockdown but because you cant corpse hop blanka it’s a little more difficult to perform switch sides, a really easy way to this is to simply tortilla over them. For example:You land a tortilla, dash forward once then tortilla and get the max distance required to switch your side. I find that way to be the most practical. this eliminates some of Blanka’s options and always remember to bait too and punish with your choice. Another things to take note of is punishing blocked blanka balls with Habanero dash > Calamari Slide.

Another thing to do is to try to bait that wakeup ultra so you could get that free focus attack, I saw TKD do this to Mizoteru. you can see that here: The timing is somewhat strict but after the practice is becomes routine…

**Wrap up:**Just remember to always switch sides and keeping pressure on him once you score a knockdown, and once hes’s wary again just make sure to keep your distance and repeat the cycle.

Thanks alot for reading, I hope this helped you in some sort of way.

I support this thread since Paper refuses to update the cookbook thread

I’m now wondering if we should create a new matchup thread every few months.

We dont need a new one, just a consistent one

Yes. I think if we had someone who should make one though it should be Densuo or a regular. Nothing against LSB, but I barely see you post man. If you could update every now and then that would be great so I guess we’ll see.

EDIT: Vs Bison if you do any move xx run stop overhead you land on the other side.

Chuck, its simply because I just made this today, Im gonna be all over this forum like a hobo on a ham sandwich. dont sweat it, I got this locked down. have faith. lol

I vouch for lsb, ive known him for awhile

question about Bison matchup, what if you’re getting pressured by his cr. lk xx scissors and stuff like that. what can you do to get out safely?

Aside from the EX Dash-Grab OS, there’s always the good old back dash. Despite it’s short range, I can say that it’s helped me get out of some pressure in the last couple of days.

I think we need to include a list of pressure strings for each character so we know when you can’t try to counter attack.

Yeah you can ex run the scissors xx RSF or grab like kuma said, but I have to disagree with backdashing when getting scissored up the ass. if he decides to walk up and grab your done. try EX running the scissors or simply blocking and waiting for the right moment to get out safely.

what is this?
its just general matchup stuff you are writing down there, nothing specific.
of course i gotta score a knockdown against dictator, mister obvious

i like the old matchup thread or papers cookbook more, they just need to be organized and/or updated regulary.
