The Monster Hunter Thread: A Whole New World

Curious if anyone has seen this “tier list” for the weapons, or at least this one that I saw from a Japanese site,

I agree with the list, not entirely, but seeings things like Duals up high, along with LS makes sense. It’s fun to talk about however, these list obviously aren’t that relevant due to the nature that MHW is a PvE and thus no one is going to care if you’re using a weapon that isn’t deemed “as good.”

Still I’m just happy to see Duals up so high since I basically main them, but more importantly to see the effectiveness of them considering back in MH1 which was the only other MH that I really played a lot the Duals were less than desirable in that version.

I know they set up a tier list looking table, but it’s not really a tier list because it was literally just decided by vote.

Edit: I’m an idiot, there’s a vote but that’s separate from the tier list below it. That said I still disagree with the actual tier list as well.

HBG and Bow should basically be SSS all on their own if we are tiering by pure damage and speed potential. Nothing really comes close aside from TSC’s aerial style GS(which is higher DPS than the “normal” ways to play GS)

I almost feel like I need to throw a damn party. Finally won a AT Vaal with a full group, I’ve won every single time solo, however as a group, I’ve probably played 20+ times and never had one single success with any form of a group, until today.

What is more surprising is that nobody died, one LS, LBG, and two duals in which I was one of them. We actually beat the pants out of it pretty quickly too.

I still rank AT Kirin above it easily due to it’s stupidity with the aoe lightning and the triple lines, however I’m going to dread the day that they ever make a AT Jho.

OMFG…Arena Quest suck ass!!
But the Brigade armor & Layered armor are worth it. Love the designs, and the skills aren’t that bad.

They’re all scaled for 2 players, you should look for a session focused on arena quests if you don’t have friends to do it with. Unless you just want the challenge.

I’ll do that from now on.
Right now, I can help a coworker out with the Nerg story mission.

UPDATE:

@Gasaraki Thank you Gasaraki. I had breezed through so many arena quest last night. I’m working on getting the brigade layered armor for my second proflie.

Makes me wonder what kind of hardware can run the game at 60 FPS and higher. A GTX 1060 seems to be the recommended card to run the game at high settings at 30 FPS.

I’m wondering that myself. This might end up being more benchmark than game if the requirements for aboves 60FPS are insane.

I’m glad I got it on the PS4, since the PS2 was where I first played MH (MH1 Headlocking Glory Days!) and that’s where I’ll always feel most comfortable playing this game.

However, I am happy to see that it’s finally being released on the PC, some of my friends were waiting for the PC version and I also told them that they would need to seriously upgrade or else they’ll be having problems. A friend of mine has a PC that can barely run anything on the lowest settings and he wants to play MHW.

I told him that if he doesn’t upgrade his rig at bare minimum to at least a 1060 (although I said for him that a 1070 or better is the best option) then he should refrain from getting this game on the pc.

In the super heated moments of fights, if your fps drops down to unplayable levels it will be not only be problematic for you, but for the entire 4 man squad, since that could mean life or death depending upon the situation. With missions mainly being 3 deaths maximum or in some cases less, than it becomes a big problem.

Not to mention I would assume that hacking into the PC version would be far easier to achieve than it would be on the PS4. I’m fairly happy that it isn’t cross platform, the population on the PS4 is more than strong enough to continue onward.

It’s going to have Denuvo on PC, so how hackable it is depends on how long it takes people to hack that out.

I found the PC System Requirements for Monster Hunter World if anyone is interested.

Minimum System Requirements
OS: WINDOWS® 7, 8, 8.1, 10 (64-BIT Required)
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-4460, 3.20GHz or AMD FX™-6300 above
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphic: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 760 OR AMD Radeon™ R7 260x(VRAM 2GB and above)
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 20 GB available space
Sound card: DirectSound compatible (DirectX® 9.0c higher)
Additional Notes:mMouse, keyboard and game pads (both DirectInput and XInput) are supported.
30FPS at 1080p on LOW graphic settings.

Recommended System Requirements
OS: WINDOWS® 7, 8, 8.1, 10 (64-BIT Required)
Processor: Intel® Core™ i3 8350 4GHz or Intel® Core™ i7 3770 3.4GHz or AMD Ryzen™ 5 1500X
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphic: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060 (VRAM 3GB) or AMD Radeon™ RX 570X (VRAM 4GB)
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 20 GB available space
Sound card: DirectSound compatible (DirectX® 9.0c or higher)
Additional Notes: Mouse, keyboard and game pads (both DirectInput and XInput) are supported.
30FPS at 1080p on HIGH graphic settings.

So pretty much what most of us have stated, that a solid core and at least a 1060 is needed for at least solid gameplay throughout, I would also switch the 8 GB Ram to 16 just to give yourself more breathing space too.

System requirements that target 30FPS…Yep, definitely a Japanese PC port.

What kind of dumb statement is this?

Am I good? The graphics card has me worried?

PC Mustard Race statement.
