The Monster Hunter Thread: A Whole New World

Finally got that Handicraft IV charm. Now I’m swimming in dat purple sharpness.

Done with Gold Rathian and Sliver Rathalos for now!! Got enough of the Sliver Rath armor to get the 4 piece set, and I have Gold Rathians LS & CB, which are the best 2 weapons in their caterogories.

Plus I have the Gold Rathian head piece armor.

What do you need to hunt to upgrade it to level 4?

Tempered Lunastra in Guiding Lands.

And temp Acid Glav.

Tempered Lunastra?!
That shit is going to suck!!!

Temp Acid Glav doesn’t sound as bad as dealing with Lunastra’s BS

Do you need Tempered Acid Glav for Handi IV charm? I thought you just need some Acid Glav parts at most, not Tempered GL versions. I don’t remember fighting any Tempered Acid Glavs in GL for my Handi IV charm; the only gate was Tempered GL Lunastra.

Lunastra is really awful to fight but if you can get some Windproof or even Astera Jerky to munch on during her nova, you’ll make things a lot easier for yourself. Also don’t forget to pop a Cool Drink if you don’t have Heat resistance.

It is tempered, I’m sure

Noted!!
I had never used windproof against her, just Stun & Heat resistance, plus Earplugs.

Also have guys tried this shit…

Virtually kept K.O.'ing Ruinner Nerg all fight with this set-up, and I didn’t even have the Brachy leg armor.

I built a set with Windproof 5 just for her.

That’s nice and all, but you’d be doing more damage with a auto-reload sticky 3 HBG like Solemn Reflection or Rajang Destroyer.

Fading Blossom just looks so fly, it’s a 10 out of 10 in my book, in terms of aesthetic appeal. Speaking of aesthetics, I’m going to be honest on some of the Iceborne weapons, in which case some just look absolutely plain.

Not saying all are bad, because the Velkahana DualBlades and Charge Blade (damn, baby!) look absolutely spectacular.

Went to make the Rajang GL because it had Wide 6, but aesthetically, this weapon looks like nearly all generic GL however with some fur pieces of Rajang put on it. I mean, for real?

I know I may be nitpicking this ridiculously amazing game (Iceborne imo is 10x better than Vanilla MHW. The flexibility on gem builds now is Way, Way better, and that alone is huge imo) however, I just feel that their could’ve been more creativity done here with the unique weapons for monsters in my opinion.

Lastly, I’m super hyped for that Fan Created Charge Blade, although I voted for a different fanmade CB which I felt was better looking.

All to be fair, I truly wished that Capcom would have just created the Top-5 most voted MH Fan weapons because their were plenty of others that I felt would have been amazing, although the one chosen will 100% be used by me, since I’m an advent CB user.

In my opinion, they should have at the very least, one fan voted weapon for each category (meaning one for Hammer, LS, DB, Bow, LBG etc, etc). Would open more doors for the MH Fans to incorporate and feel like they can be a part of MH.

I’m hoping in the future that Capcom does more of this for not just MH, but all of their games. I could imagine just how sick some of the custom-fan made SF costumes could be if they did this as well.

This Palico Set should have won! A Cowboy Palico Jho rider? Come on now.

I hate guiding lands.

The weapon designs were apparently done that way due to the customization system which allows you to change the look, of them.

I’m personally hoping that they add more unique looking customizations down the line.

Who am I kidding though, I’m just gonna rock this railgun till the end of time (or it gets nerfed).

I was slightly bummed bout the Brachy Swax looking like trash, but then I remembered that I always use the best weapon possible regardless of looks in past games. Like the Ceadeus and Chameleos Swaxes. :joy:

Armor looks great and lots of layered stuff on the way. Give me layered Banbaro and I’m good. :man_shrugging:t4:

Cause of the time it takes?

Up and down levels. Needing to delevel a zone. The fact that ore and bone deposits change with level is the stupid icing on top. Time to. Really bummed me out going back to kill tier 1 monsters all over again.

Really should let us change the levels at will by using parts or something. Ore and bones deposits should all be pooled together or be rewarded when turning in investigations.

I’d like to just go kill shit with total abandon.

Wait, gathering changes based on level? Are you sure about that? I’m almost 100% positive that gathering is it’s own meter and you can get both the common and rare stuff regardless of area level.

I mean, you can just focus on getting the levels where you want then lock them, and then you can kill shit with reckless abandon.

In any case they did say they still are considering how to balance it so it could still change. I doubt they’ll get rid of the leveling though since that’s kind of what it’s based around

So the gathering stuff is only based off that bar next to the ore/bone symbols?

That would be massive headache somewhat alleviated. Why can’t it just be simple. :joy:

Also I guess I don’t mind leveling them back up, but I should be able to delevel freely.

Because it’s Monster Hunter.
