Final Boss :

Ok this one kind of need a paragraph of his own. Each phase seem to have exactly the same amount of hp, so from what I gathered : 18,400 18,550 18,750 18,900 and a fifth value I didn’t find. But what I want to point out is its head. See, you may want to slice off that bit of his forehead so you can carve it for plates and gems. Here’s the thing. The flinch value for his head seem to be around 2,400-2,600 hp, first time you reach it, you break his head once. But if he’s anything like most other elder dragons, then you’ll probably need to get him around 20-30% of his HP before you can completely break off his head, and by that I mean, you need to get him under 20-30% hp, AND THEN you have to reach the flinch threshold (for the second time in the entire second phase I mean), and that’s when you’ll make his forehead fall off. Now I’m not completely 100% certain of it of course, but from the few tests I ran, it really does seem to work this way.

Last piece of advise though : don’t break his head the second time by making him run in a wall, like I did. Unless you want to make his forehead fall out of bounds…

Knew Namielle felt fat and confirming lavasioth is a piece of shit.

Hey is high affinity snd builds still viable with the weakness exploit nerf? Or should I go for a raw attack build with my elementless barroth slicer?

Attack is the last thing you should think of adding since it adds a fixed value that tends to be very miniscule in the long run thanks to how much health monsters have in mR (as much as elders, or even Behemoth). Things that build crit are more important since they’re percentage based and increase your damage much more than just attack.

You should go for WE3, Crit Eye 7, Crit Boost 3, before even thinking of Attack.

EDIT: I posted a pic with my character a few posts back. Something like that is what you should be going for (just take out the Spread Jewel).

EDIT 2: Here’s a video explaining it.

Made the Blackwing LBG…you know the one with Rapid fire Pierce 2 and Sticky 2…

Here’s the build and decos:

Messed up and put Reload Assist instead of Evading Reload 2. So that we be changed, however I cannot wait to test this thing out in the Guiding Lands!!

I haven’t been able to play Icebourne yet… Seems like everyone here plays the bowguns. Anybody wanna let me know how switch axe and hammer turned out?

Hammer is amazing, Switch Ax is kinda ass and should be dumped for Charge Blade.

Switch axe has a lot of problem matchups. ZSD is great cause mantles are busted. Didn’t get buffs anywhere else that really matters. :man_shrugging:t4:

I use it cause it looks cool and I’m clearly a masochist. :upside_down_face:

Hammer is godlike in Iceborne!!
The clutch combos that you can do with it now are just awesome!

Use switch axe if master rank isn’t challenging enough. Other wise dont torture yourself with Charge Blade’s cousin that was born months premature.

Still having ptsd from brachydios, seething Bazelguese, and attempting to farm shara with swax. :man_facepalming:t5:

I have to use something light and quick against Brachy like the Velkana Ice Dual Blades

Brachy tries to blow me up, so I blow him up in return.

Never touched Bowguns in my life. Basically all weapons got buffed, and the ones that got nerfed were mostly just nerfed cause of universal changes. Hammer didn’t get a lot new but what it got is perfect. It already basically had a perfect moveset, they just added the new moves to the stuff you do most anyway.

SA got a much better fade slash, damage buffs, some other stuff.
