…No wonder the crime rate is so high. Cigs probably cost more than pants in that bitch.

I hate children so much.
I hate them because people love theirs so much that they make my life a living hell just so they can get whatever cum stains living in their house whatever it is that won’t make them scream at them.
Fuck you, fuck your children, and fuck Christmas.
edit: Yes, this is vague, but it’s Christmas and I work out of the back of a retail store.
DRD! Always a sight for sore eye <3.
I have a job at retail. I hate Christmas too Duckie.
i’m an arms dealer now. it’s almost as fun as working on computers.
(never worked retail before)
lol wtf how does it cost that fucking much to live in NYC? I would straight up move anywhere else, and just mortgage out two houses for that same monthly value lol.
It’d take most of an entire one of my paycheques just to pay for one month of rent, apparently…
Wait fuck your children?
We need to call the authorities
Drd talking about 11 year olds with bodies adults would kill for again
So sad there will be no more repairman shenanigans. Congrats on getting a more stable job though!
Funny you should mention that…
Yesterday a customer called the store with a computer question. I’m the tech dept manager so I handle customer issues.
This mid-50’s sounding guy calls and immediately introduces himself. To protect the names of the innocent, I’ll change the guy’s name to Todd Ed. So he calls and tells me he’s having problems with his Macbook. We work on these sometimes, so I entertain his questions. He begins to explain to me everything that happens (in shocking detail) about when his computer boots up. It’s nothing out of the ordinary, but I seriously thought someone was fucking with me. I walked around the shop, trying to look for one of the techs giggling in the corner with a phone, but no such luck.
I mute the phone, look at the store manager, and said “Someone’s fucking with me. He’s got to be fucking with me.” He grabs the other phone to listen in, listens to the guy talk for a few seconds, and then with a “deer in headlights” look says “I know this guy. He’s actually like that,” hangs up the phone, and goes back to his desk in the back and avoids contact with this guy.
Fifteen minutes of turning it off, and then back on, each describing his boot up process while I tell him he probably needs to replace his laptop, and he says “Well yesterday I finally got so mad at it that I punched it.”
“You punched it.”
“Yeah, I was mad.”
“Your laptop. You punched it.”
“Well it didn’t work! What do you think is wrong.”
“Um, probably because you punched it.”
“So what’s wrong with it?”
“… your RAM is bad.”
“Your what?”
“Not mine, sir. YOUR RAM is bad. Here’s a number to a local computer shop tries to give him the number”
“Wait, what’s the number?” I gave it to him again.
“Hang on, I need to write this down.” I repeat it again when he says he’s ready.
“Wait, I need to write this down.”
This went on for five more minutes.
The total time on call was TWENTY. TWO. FUCKING. MINUTES. I got off the phone, went into the bathroom, and screamed.
I calmly left the bathroom, went back to the tech shop where the owner and manager were sitting, and then proceeded to give a very thorough and passionate debate about how this world sucks because we’ve circumvented Natural Selection and allowed people who are not fit for survival to keep existing.
I’ve said for a long time that the legal requirements of the Disclaimer are so draconian that it causes way too much stupidity to continue to breed.
The day I realized that was when I bought a canister of cashews. On the label, it says “Warning: Contains Cashews”.
A lone tear ran down my cheek as I realized the implications this had on humanity.
That story… Was beautful duckie! 10/10
Duckie never change. EVER!
Perhaps this may help you in your future endeavors with said archetype of clientele.
one of my clients forced me to lose. i never lose. i’m pissed off right now. Duckie, pray you never have to go up against CryptoWall 2.0
[details=Spoiler]CW2.0 is malware that basically inserts itself into a system, creates a TOR instance, makes a copy of all user data, DELETES the original data, REPLACES it with the same data modified with a cryptographical key, then ransoms data; forcing a host to pay them in bitcoins over TOR for the password
this dude lost every thing. 1000s of pictures. health records. all of his written documents.
i put Linux Mint on his system just to salvage the hardware (kept the original windows partition so i could come back to it if i find a fix).
watch your back.

try some of the shit suggested here:
Update: 1/14/15 - CryptoWall 3.0 released. CryptoWall 2.0 is an encryption virus (ransomware) that encrypts your files and then requires...
http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/disinfection/10556
that might restore some of the encrypted files
i didn’t catch that site. if this shit works imma mail you a beer.
I just changed an Android tablet from Chinese to English.
If she wasn’t 8 years old, I’d charge $25 for that.
brushes the dust off the thread
One of the things I enjoy about my job (both my current one and the job I had when I started this thread) is how people try so hard to convince us that they aren’t absolutely stupid when they bring us a broken phone/laptop/console/whatever to repair.
Most days I wish I could just let them know that there’s no need to put forth all that effort – we already think you’re stupid.
Hell, the people who actually DO own up to it and say something like “Yep. I was just dumb and I broke it” frequently get a discount.
Noice that this thread is going again. Hopefully 2016 will bring many posting opportunities.
