“That’s reality right there kicking at your door nigga,… world ain’t fair, rights and wrongs switch between themselves from here to there and you’d be better off just accepting it”
Is what i normally would say , but deep down we all know it’s not like that.
If you have a will and the determination YOU can change the shit that’s happening right before your eyes, you just have to fiercely slap your godamn face and say "naw im not doing this shit, i aint gonna stand here and look at that dude suffering while i think that life is tough and shit. Im gonna go to the grocery store, buy some water and bread (or whatever you can afford) and bring it back to him, then im gonna ask/call/search for someone/something that can tell me what i can do to help that man. Again it’s what YOU can do, not what you would want to do in a fantasy world , you’re definitely not a superhuman and u can’t just fly over to him in your magic carpet say a few words get him a new leg and rejoin him with his lost family. Any little thing u can do can change another man’s life more then you would believe so. You will need the patience and the determination to follow it through because, (yeah from my experience) when it comes to helping people, everyone else will either despise you and just keep on their masks ignoring whats happening at their doorstep or put you obstacle over obstacle on your goodwill to give honest and legit help to a homeless guy / beggar / handicapped veteran from war. Because when other people aren’t making a profit from it, you’re on your damn own self and they will even hinder you and bring you down, so they can soothe their guilty conscience of standing in front of someone who appears to be a better person then them. Alot of crap is coming your way if u want to play the role of the “martyr” and do something about the obnoxious trash that our society turned into.
3 years ago i worked as a volunteer in an orphanage, and im not gonna write a novel here, but i saw some pretty messed up shit. Like twisted and sinister shit that u thought u would only see in the movies, since kids that were abandoned by their parents when they walked home from thier pre-school and simply found their decaying house empty, some that suffered abuse and were now in the “limbo” because the social authorities are in standstill due to the fact that their only close relative was either in jail, a reported alcoholic or a clinically diagnosed psychopath and now had to wait till they could find someone who could act as foster parents to them and fill in the heaps of bureaucracy in the forms of paper folders which actually impede the process from progressing smoothly. And the orphanage they were staying for the moment wasn’t exactly any better then the rundown gypsy shacks made of aluminium u see in the outskirts, rain would pore in when there was a storm and infestation by rodents was common in the street it was located. I still have the mental scar of seeing a kid playing with a kind of action figure that was semi-limbless because the rats had chewed away at the plastic parts that composed the figure’s legs and arms. It’s the kind of sight i had to grow used to since the government and the general community in my country isn’t known for donating to orphanages and even with the recent movements that have fund raised capital for renewal of some institutions, most of the lesser ones don’t get to see any kind of help in the economic aspect since it’s impossible to fully account the amount of houses that act as home for orphans. Fortunately there are other crazy good people that pop up as an osasis in the middle of the desert and donate absurd amounts of money (well in the eyes of common folk as myself) and provide help and other mediums of assistance to the unfavored and fight the cruelty that is deeply entrailed in the society we exist in.
Im not gonna rant on anymore, but long story short, any little effort u can dispose to help those is in need is more important than those celebrity fundraisers that happen as an excuse to have fancy dinners and hypocritically talk about they say how much they want to help people when i can estimate the current amount of effort they are putting is something around ~2% of what they could do. What i mean to say is it’s more important to have the attitude and follow the values of some good people that i have met in my life and have inspired me to be a better person and challenge myself to help in whatever way i can, no matter how little the act is.
Well, sorry for the off topic rant. Just letting you know that you ain’t alone out there, others also share the frustration and the growing unrest in their hearts that you felt
