You are probably right, but I dunno…haven’t got myself used to it yet.
either way st.mk is a poke and RD is used from a buffered poke two very different things IMO.
Yun doing shoulders and ppl let him are different too. You can actually focus absorb and punish any non EX shoulder string.

raw RD is actually a really good poke as well
im not trying to say that you should do hands only, all the time, you’re absolutely right about that, but i do feel her two standout moves are lp hands and ex drill
but really naked hands?
do you have experiencie with any other of the paino moves? like HHS, LL or even elec? you need five inputs, like fast and then you want to use RD naked?
i get the whole “omg RD hitbox is gdlk”, but cmon how are you going to use w/o whiffing something to hide your inputs??? with Chun I use dash > Ex Legs but that works because she has a 15f dash and Ex legs is 4f start up.
RD is 9f start up and decapre´s dash is like 18f IIRC

of course i mean you’re hiding the inputs behind normals, as is done in the video. watch any haneyama match for five million examples a round. also, i don’t know why you would want to do that with any other hands character as their mashes don’t move them forward
The more i play her the more i think sacrificing something like a stinger ender is better overall.
I’m going to start seeing how doing something like (in a punish case) cl.fp, cr.mp/cr.mk xx scramble smash crossup into a stinger instead of cl.fp, cr.mp/cr.mk xx stinger.
Obviously not every time, but i think it would be worth integrating, it would result in a lot more damage and keep them really guessing
Hell, if that kind of thing can make a DP whiff, you could hold charge and ultra the whiffed DP too or something, I shall play around with it tonight lol
HP HHS and HK LL actually does moves you forward, not by much tho.
in any case i was referring to other moves because is very unlikely to use them naked, so yeah buffered pokes is the way to go with RD for me at least.
and plz dont abuse or even use those scramble ala “demon flips resets” unless you want to derp your way out

raw hands is pretty good, but you don’t want to overuse it. You just use it if people get cheeky and think they can hold forward or dash up on you a lot
This won’t work against good players. If they see you do it once they know that they can just poke you out of scramble’s start up and will convert into damage over it. Even if you don’t do it every time it’s easy to see coming, as well as block even if they don’t punish its startup.
Although I can see where you are getting at, I think that will only work a couple of times, cause at that distance scramble is going to be telegraphed and you’ll be poked/reversal’ed outta it.
If you want to punish then you have to hurt them, not reseting them, you’re throwing away guaranteed damage. Hence that, you have two options while punishing:
- go for damage = stinger/ultra
- go for hard knockdown + safe jump/setup = Razor Edge Slicer
just do romance’s bnb, jab jab throw safer and more practical than scramble “resets”

Wish she had Cammy’s close standing HP would do her much good. Many of her pokes are standing and 2,8 EX P requires a charge and would probably be best to scramble away but no charge. 2,8 EX is a bit wonky with the hit box even with charge and can be thrown - HP version I don’t think can be. My mind set is hope I don’t face a grappler because there isn’t much she can do there, much like cammy but her ground game is better while cammy has anti air covered, is like a rock paper scissors game of grapple>fireballer >Mix ups with other types like defense and rolento/vega etc wherever. Matchups can be overcome but is still a factor.
Mix ups really got toned down with delayed wake up. I have fun with her but it doesn’t seem like there have been any good solutions put forth to solve the new wake up game for anyone - there is some stuff that can be done on reaction to wake up but is very limited. With her she can air scramble HP down but if she gets blocked it will hurt. Bison is a charge character that doesn’t have to charge much but all of his stuff is reasonably safe like most charge characters and gives him tons of pressure…I’m wondering why everything she does is laggy ( can be reacted to) and usually unsafe aside from some pokes…so thinking she is meant to be played like a twitchy character and do tons of feints to bait whatever out and then punish kind of like viper but idk as am new to charge characters. The Japanese arcade leader boards have the ibuki’s, Viper’s and other mix up characters…the overall balance seems to be very good.
One thing I noticed is her moves have low priority (small hit box/large hurt box) so using lp hands as a poke doesn’t often win and just pressing HP does the same thing but without a KD (goes back to new wake up meta). However, like Cr. MK Lp rappid dager can be pressure, it doesn’t seem to gel so is much like Viper’s thunder knuckle pressure but would be a good whiff punish and is OK for U1 shenanigans so far.

whats her best current punish, and what should I be doing after focus attack (besides target combo launcher) to maximize damage, say near the end of the round?
The hardest punish I’m willing to shoot for currently is j. :hp: > cl. :hp: > cr. :mk: > :hp: stinger > FADC > air throw. It’s pretty solid damage, and not too difficult.
Another player posted ex break, ex stinger, mp stinger in the corner. After focus it’s might be just under 400. You might not have to use ex break after a crumple to do it either.
