I have mine on most of the time not that it maters as 90% of PSN uesers don’t and 80% of the yanks that do just use it to talk smack and bitch about getting beat not that any of them are SRK users
It adds some latency yes, but very little. Nothing worth worrying yourself over unless your connection is on edge already.
Unless there is a lot of people talking at the same time or some retard little shit playing fucking rap over the mic because he thinks everybody wants to hear it.

I got that there logitech USB headset.
USB wired > Bluetooth.
For some reason BT causes minor input delay when playing PS3 games and can even cause lag and lag spikes. I noticed it immediately when I was playing MGO months ago and plugged in a USB mic and headset instead.

Cause I got some Motorola BT and it lags the hell out of the game. It will be fine in the lobby/channel, but once the game starts, it DC’s me.

speaking of Mic’s, i always mute people when they feel the need to have thier mic on when i join a game, no one wants to hear your shit… save your mic for custom matches when you know its someone else who wants to talk w/ you. just an FYI
