This is gone over previously in thread and is in the wiki but for the sake of the thread having actual content lemme answer…
MBAC has normal and EX Shielding. EX shielding is what you get when you tap and release shield, this shield recovers quickly and is cancelable into anything. Normal shielding you get when you hold shield. This recovers slowly (you can normal shield a 2a and get hit by the next 2a) and it’s special cancelable only. Normal shield also drains circuit like crazy while you hold it.
Shield Bunker is basically an alpha counter. The exception is you get a clash point at the beginning of the animation and if you can time it such that the opponent hits it, you’ll generally hit a successful counter. If you don’t time it right, the attack will still come out, but slowly and is generally really punishable. I forget exactly if all shield bunkers lost their ability to be special cancelled. I think Miyako’s is still jump cancelable, but it’s been forever since I tested it so I can’t say for sure. You cannot combo after this attack, so don’t try. Just set yourself to be ready to catch any techs.
Bunker canceling is exactly what the name says. You cancel the bunker before it ever comes out. Basically anything that has a ABCD input you can cancel to. The most basic generic input requires just pushing a button after the normal motion. 214D~A/B/C. Shiki’s and Kouma’s 214D~C are very good examples.
