kouma’s bnb isn’t that strong
take sion, v.sion, akiha, arc, warc, aoko, hisui, m.hisui, len (if it’s the 5 hit 5c combo)
they have midscreen non-circuit bnbs that deal greater damage

Tatarititties <3
So are you guys going to FRX since MBAC is there? Due to calling in at work I have been able to touch up a lil and ZTB Im still reading up on that stuff (now as we speak actually) and doing other things in prep for this game as well!!!
Chibi I declare a rematch!!!
come to NYC early Feb
I think you’re misusing the term BnB here. Sure they have combos that do more damage without needing a corner or meter, but I would not call them bread and butter combos as they have other prerequisites beyond “hitting someone with a 2A”.
Just off of the top of my head for ‘average BnB damage’ (roughly averaged over all characters):
Sion: 3250
V.Sion: 3700
Akiha: 4100
Arc: 3900
R.Arc: 3500
Aoko: 4000
Hisui: 3500
M-Hisui: 3700
Kouma: 3700
Okay, so it isn’t the highest damage standard combo in the game. However, some of the ones I chose (like Arc’s and M-Hisui’s) are fucking hard, and Kouma’s is braindead easy. Calling 3700+ damage “not much damage” is just wrong, in my opinion.
I’m not even including Len because her 5-hit 5C combos are only a BnB on Planet Orka, where every j.C crosses up and hits deep.
I see where the issue is though: 2AB5C2C6C air throw is missing the 5B you can get, dropping it to below average.
I’ll see if anyone wants to go, but I might go by myself. Maybe. Not sure yet.
HISUIBOOTY
i can’t believe you could just make up numbers like that, not to mention that you’re underestimating sion’s damage output by a lot. there was a reason i put sion at the top of the list, and that’s because she still deals hell a lot of damage in ver. b (despite some nerfs).
i’ll list the real numbers that i bothered figuring out in training mode just for proof. all combos were performed on shiki. the figure on the right is normal damage (without scaling) and left represents actual damage. and just to make you happy, i’m listing the most basic combos for each characters. so the list doesn’t even take into account arc’s fullscreen 5c x2 follow-up combo, v.sion’s 623b combo, or m. hisui’s 421a combos… although people use those all the time in actual matches. no air dash cancelling or loops either. what i listed are all very easy combos that anybody should be able to perform, even if they don’t play the character.
here ya go:
Sion 3764 (7320)
2a, 2b, 5c, 3c > ja, jb, jc > jb, jc > throw
V.Sion 3186 (7270)
2a, 2b, 2c, 3c > ja, jb, jc > jb, jc > throw
Akiha 3916 (9800)
2a, 5b, 5c, 6c, 2c, 4c > jb, jc > jb, jc > throw
Hisui 3531 (8250)
2a, 2b, 2c, 5c, 6c > jc, jb > jb, jc > throw
M.Hisui 3818 (8620)
2a, 2b, 5c, 2c, 6c > jc, jb > jb, jc > throw
Arc 3290 (7850)
2a, 2b, 2c, 3c > ja, jb, jc > ja, jb, jc > throw
Warc 3474 (8020)
2a, 2b, 2c, 5c > ja, jb, jc > ja, jb, jc > throw
Aoko 3690 (8750)
2a, 2b, 2c, 5c, 3c > jc > jb, jc > jb, jc > throw
Compare the above with Kouma 2909 (5450)
2a, 2b, 5c, 2c, 6c > throw
So if I was to talk on your standard of things, you’re correct that Len without using 5 hit 5c actually deals less damage than Kouma and V.Sion without the 623b doesn’t do much more either. But you gotta admit that Kouma is far from having the “strongest bnb” in the game. I also grossly underestimated Nanaya, Kohaku and V.Akiha.
If anything, I was rather surprised that he actually deals even lesser damage than I originally assumed. I went through the entire rotation of cast, and it actually turns out that Kouma has one of the weakest basic bnb in the game. The only characters that couldn’t deal more damage than him midscreen without using circuit were Len, Satsuki, Ciel (assuming that the player does the scrubby combo), and Neko Arc.
Those numbers were not “made up” – I pulled them from the mook, which rounds numbers slightly and also assumes ‘standard’ defense (which is 90% across). Frankly, listing exact damage is kind of silly, due to most characters having different defense modifiers and combos averaging 2/3rds of a critical hit on average.
Why are you doing 2AB5C2C6C instead of 2BB5BC2C6C for Kouma? That’s almost as stupid as me leaving out 5C in the Sion example combo.
Also, if you seem to be willing to pass on the knockdown (and you are, as you included M-Hisuis 421A combos) then he can do 2AB5BC2C6C j.C 236B236B, which does 4100 damage. That is more damage than any of the examples you gave (including V.Sions 623B combos, M-Hisui’s 421A combos, and most Arc dash/SJ cancel combos – she could have something absurd to break that without meter; I don’t play her).
I also had a paragraph here dedicated to how much of a pretentious jerk you are, but I thought everyone was better off with that cut out. <3
He was listing “easy” combos that any person could figure out and do to show that Kouma’s easy damage output is hardly anything to write home about.
Arguing that Kouma’s optimized-for-meterless-damage-at-all-costs combo does more damage than random easy-mode combos for other characters is hardly conducive to your argument, either. That’s like saying v.A Sion’s infinite is better than v.B Sion doing a B&B. Totally different things are being discussed at that point.
Kouma’s full ground string to jC XX 236B 236B does a ton of damage, though. HOWEVER, while full ground string to air-throw does a lot of damage, it’s not “the most damaging B&B in the game.” B&B does not mean easy combo you do only if you’re sure it will kill the other guy.
That’s just it though: 2AB5BC2C6C air throw does ~3600 damage on Shiki. While that string may be optimized, there are no special requirements to land it beyond landing the initial 2A.
You missed the other part of my statement, where his meterless damage combo still does more than the more advanced ones listed, given the constraints.
I guess it comes down to if you classify that ground string as ‘easy-mode’ or not.
i’m not being pretentious at all.
it was you who started by saying that 2a, 2b, 5c, 2c, 6c > throw is the strongest bnb in the game, as you quoted me several posts back.
i even adjusted the standards to what’s referred to as “bnb” by simplifying some of the characters’ combos, yet you then say that add on 5b to kouma’s combo. first of all, that only brings up the output to the 3200’s on shiki. and the very reason i simplified that is because the combo can often whiff on frequent situations. i could’ve added 5b between 2b and 2c for aoko’s combo or added dash cancel jc after the first jb, jc for sion and v.sion but that wouldn’t made sense in your original rhetoric for what a “bnb” is.
then you bring up to say that finishing the combo with jc, 236b, 236b does much more damage. yea, we all know that. but i wasn’t even talking about that combo when i was explaining the combos to Rage02fire, and it’s not what you were referring the couple of posts back either.
what i only did was provide the facts as they are to prove my point, while you keep on resorting to crying and name-calling as usual.
Wtf is this shit?! Kouma doesn’t have the most damaging BnB at all. If we go by what BnB means, the other characters have stronger BnBs even if it means they are harder to do.
I posted this elsewhere but someone decided to respond and tell me to post here instead of posting an answer to my question (Which makes no sense IMO) This is about Re-ACT but since I couldnt find a Re-ACT specific thread this will have to do;
Okay. I’m having trouble developing an okay combo with V.Sion in. It starts as follows;
2(Hold)3B (Launch) 5A 5A 5B Dbl Jump 5A C… but I can’t seem to elaborate on it, and Airdash monotany cancels don’t work. Can anyone help me elaborate on this less than impressive Air Combo?
I’m not a fantastic MB player so any other tips would help.
I just went back and checked, it does only 3200 damage.
Bleh, two stupid mistakes like this in two weeks. That’s fucking atrocious. I’ve requested ikusat to ban myself from the wiki (and to revert all of my edits, if he so chooses – it would wipe out about 80% of the pages on there), and I’ll stop posting about this game publicly. It’s pretty clear I don’t know shit, and I’m just doing everyone trying to play the game a huge disservice.
Congratulation, you won – enjoy your Internet.
God Dippy, stop acting like you’re an idiot, that’s my fucking job.
Nevermind. I’m working on L_ 5a5b5jjC Dash C Throw. Just ignore my post. ._.
Welcome to SRK Akiha!
where do u live akiha?
Well, I lived in Canada for 11 years but I live in Osaka right now. Im 1/2 Canadian 1/2 Japanese.
@Chibi: Thanks. Weird thing, though. This site randomly causes errors in IE. Odd. Must be certain avatars.
Osaka is verrrrrry far from any arcades, isn’t it?
