The Melty Blood : Act Cadenza (PS2) thread~

I had a beautiful post made on dragoninstall.com that got eaten and im not motivated to remake it atm, but basically you can practice doing it by choosing kouma vs warakia, setting wara to attack1, and then blocking it and using 214D~C. you’ll know if you did it right if instead of getting pushed back or getting a regular bunker, your ex comes out and grabs his cape. Once you know what it looks like you can apply it to other moves. satsuki and shiki 214D~C are good. 214D~[ABC] is good with most of the cast, etc. You can also bara into commands like 2146D~[AB] will give you bara dash.

Holy shit, can Hisui control what comes out now with Stuff-fu?

:lovin: :lovin: :lovin: :lovin:

Also, did they change M. Hisui’s alpha counter to be a spark?

<3

Yeah, I was wondering about the stuff-fu too because like 3-4 times in a row she got the same combination.

Next should come a list of common bara-cancel points in strings for every character.

Kouma must live and die by bara-cancel, I swear. Without it, he’d be lost against characters like Warakia and Chaos.

Well, bara canceling isn’t mentioned on that page. Someone should throw an “AKA bara cancel” in there somewhere.

Bara cancel is just the colloquial term for it. It really doesn’t mean anything. It’s like Aquhia, dunking, and face punching. People with a little experience with the game can ‘get it’, but absolute newbies are going to be completely lost.

lol jargon

Arcade BUMSTEAD

Who wants something needlessly technical and completely doctored up?

In a wakeup situation, assume the person on the offensive has two options – a meaty of some sort (a 2A or a 2B or whatever) or a throw attempt. The person waking up has two options: block (direction doesn’t matter; this isn’t Tekken) or mash out a wakeup attack of some kind. Here is the result matrix:

Attacker meaties, defender blocks: attacker goes into a blockstring, minor advantage for the defender (due to the minor disadvantage blockstrings have on block and bara opportunities versus the obvious pressure benefits for the attacker). Let’s call it 100 for the defender.

Attacker meaties, defender attacks: lol combo’d. Defender takes 3800 damage.

Attacker throws, defender blocks: defender gets thrown for 1500 damage.

Attacker throws, defender attacks: lol reverse combo’d. Attacker takes 3800 damage.

Solving for a nash equilibrium produces produces the following frequencies:

Attacker: Meaty 21/34 (62%), throw 13/34 (38%)
Defender: Block 38/51 (75%), attack 13/51 (25%)
Overall advantage: Attacker, 7600/17 (+440 damage).

What happens if you shift over to giving blockstrings slight advantage on block (+100)?

Attacker: Meaty 63/100 (63%), throw 37/100 (37%)
Defender: Block 19/25 (76%), attack 6/25 (24%)
Overall advantage: Attacker, +494 damage.

You would think an initiative flip (even from minor to minor) would have more of a difference than that.

Wish i was in Ny so i could bring my warc to the table. Great matches.

:mad::mad::mad::mad:THE HATE CONTINUES >=O

ahem Pardon me.

Find me some Hisui merchandaise SAOTOME!

>=O!!!

I take it that Kaneda is back in town or something .

Dip,

What if you take into account high/low blocking?

haven’t noticed this thread b4 but thought i’d mention ciel is broken… ahvb super… godly mixups… a crossup that she doesn’t need… safe projectiles that she doesn’t need, pokes that beat everything and have autoguard properties… wtfocks… <3… oh ya and is the arcade setup really as ugly as it looks in master chibi’s wiki??? why wouldn’t they mirror the ps2 controller :(… i should have learned this game before nec7 because its really the new marvel… it hardly resembles gg… :frowning:

Everyone, listen to damian420. He knows what hes talking about (lol). Her pokes beat everything!!

blllblllbllllllllllll :looney: :looney: :looney:

cough

That wiki is courtesy of ikusat, Dipstick, and a few others.

I just like putting the link their in my sig.

Also, check out what I’m arguing about over on MT with one of the mods ;O!

And yeah, I pulled out the Satsuki beating Shiki bit out of my ass, it’s why I’m so awesome.

i c… because i’m a default pad player who’s going to the TGA tourney and trying my luck on their japanese sticks… but if the buttons are that focked as welllll… :(… wutever… maybe someone will have a ps2 around for casual…

I would advise that you cease to continue wasting your time posting on that thread but I’d like to see where CrackPron’s ignorance peaks.

@ Damian:

There’s a chance they won’t get the arcade board in on time (thanks to the holiday schedules and what not), but if that’s the case I’m pretty sure Dippy will have it avaiable on the PS2 as usual. I’ll be there as well.

And by default I’m a pad player as well, but I can play the game on stick if needed. It’s not all that hard, but getting IAD’s down will fucking ruin your hands, haha.

@ Saiyd:

I want to see where he goes with it as well.

I also practiced j.A, j.C on the way down, iad j.C in the corner (from the vid you showed me). That shit is not easy, and If I’m in too deep the second j.C misses, but then I guess I’ll use that for throw mix up or what have you.

Outside of that I’m doing my best to get j.B after airthrow down, and 5.C right after to tech punish. If they tech back or foward after an air throw I go for 5C, but if they don’t do I just put down a chair?

<3

Err yeah Satsuki doesnt have a 3f 5A anymore :stuck_out_tongue:

P.S. Ciel is barely mid tier. Maybe a little better in version b with 5CC D but I doubt it.
