Nope, the two loops are char dependent, and when the combo guide is revamped (tommorrow) hopefully i will be able to test the option on ALL the characters, and it will quickly tell you which chars the extended SMJ loop will hit. I simply say, to be safe, learn the :m::h: n :s: loop first then memorize which chars the longer loop works on

But I plan to make a Jill guide video pulling everything I’ve been picking up from these combos and how to implement them into ur game.

See. This is the kind of thing every forum should strive for. I want to do something like this with the Fuerte forum and even espand the SRK wiki, but we might do after the newest edition is out.

I feel u on that. You should promote healthy ideas wherever u can too. Whether it be the f forum or the improved srk guide. We should prolly chat about formats and guide sometime tomorrow when I’m revamping the post. I could use like 2 or 3 people on chat (hint hint to those readin this post) to help me make an understandable guide that any player should be able to look at, understand, and take notes from.

I MIGHT be able to help during the weekend. No promises since I’ve got homework due Monday to worry about. And just to make sure, is good execution a requirement for you to work on this?

Well whenever your free is alright of course. It’s going to be a project series, so evolution of character usage is exactly what im aiming for lol. And can u record matches or videos?

And as for my sig, thanks once again. I understand we want to the best (as a forum), and specific people want to be better (than everyone else), but I just wish everyone would take two seconds before they say something hurtful bout a character or game because “they” don’t like it. One of these seconds would be to realize that it’s just a game, and it’s meant to be played in a number of different ways one person probably would never completely fathom, and two, to say something in attack is to say something stupid. This could even be applied to life, and just like the anti sent video states, you may not like sentinel, but RESPECT that he (and other gdlk things in Games n life) exists, and learn to deal with him (and the other things) in a respectable and fashionable manner that makes you look better than if u were to just spam hateful words.

Unfortunately, I can’t record. The most I can do is record cutscenes which is all I’ve used it for in occasional AMVs (should really get back to that Other M one). I don’t think I can use it for matches and combo videos. Even it were for replays, there’d be no guarantee that the framerate wouldn’t drop on me.

Oh, and I understand the anti-Jill sentiment. I see Fuerte-hate all the time.

I think the best format for the guide would be something like:

  1. Bnb’s with division on combos not using Feral Crouch Cancels (for beginner players and people who play online a lot) and the ones that do use them. We need both combos ending with either Hyper (preferably both, because there is a reason to use both of them) and meterless bnb’s. Combos need to be non-character specific, or at least work on complete majority of the characters. Lastly, the combos need to be sorted as fullscreen, midscreen (P2 starting point) and corner dependant. These combos need to be easy to perform.
  2. Advanced combos. Since bnb’s need to be easy to do and reliable to land, this section should cover more advanced combos, like meaty Arrow Kick, or numerous Feral Crouch cancels etc.
  3. Assist combos, same as the previous post, only with an assist (or two). I think a relaunch assist is definitely a good choice, because it allows Jill to move the opponent closer to the corner.
  4. Post throw (regular or air throw, not Position Exchange) combos, self-explanatory.
  5. Mad Beast combos, this will likely be empty for a while considering how difficult this mode is.
  6. X-Factor combos. We’ll also need a 100% (anti-Sentinel) combos (if Jill even has one). I think assists should also be allowed for this. After all, if you use level 1 X-Factor you have both assists available.
  7. Character specific combos. Most of the character specific combos I saw don’t do that much more damage, this is why the section is last.

Now this is not all, this is debatable, but I think we should dedicate a separate page for DHC reset glitch combos. They will obviously be a fairly large part of the guide, that’s why they should be separate from the rest.

hmmm. Ill keep this in mind when i write down the notes for the combos and their format. Ill be sure to break the combos up into sections and such. and to have a guide to using the combos on the first post.

as for the DHC reset glitch, how about we make another thread for it and link it in the first post, that way people can also discuss it, and how to use it on a grander scale, while still understanding that it is part of her combo game. I don’t think a paragraph or two might do it justice if we were to find more info on it later.

Good point, in fact this probably belongs more into Jill Team Building thread, after all, we don’t need DHC reset combos with the whole cast, only with the characters who work well with Jill, and most of them are pretty easy anyway.

how you guys going about opening people up iwth jill, I keep forgetting she has a command grab smh. other than that her overhead seems a lil slow to use liberally.

Wow… the sheer ignorance in those videos makes me sad and more than a little dissapointed in my fellow gamers…

I’m messing with Jill’s teleport and I’m found some neat things that I wouldn’t be surprised to see become the cornerstones of her strategy.

  1. When Teleport back or forth, as in not :u:, :uf:, or :ub:, you can buffer :d::d: while teleport and then press :s: to immediately go to Feral Crounch. I say we call this Teleport Dancing after Melee’s Dash Dancing.
  2. When doing her forward teleport, do :dp: and if you time it right, you can either do any of her DP attacks before or after you go through someone. Do it just as your doing the last DP input will do it in front. Pressing the button right after lets you do it from behind. I’m not sure how many ways your opponent has to guess though.

I have a real hard time getting in with Jill. It’s a bit easier for me when there are characters alive for assists but even then I’m still struggling. Before Jill, I’ve been playing mostly Wesker/Ammy/Chun and their getting in strats seem straight forward and easy for me. As for Jill I have no idea.

Any ideas/help? I know I can do Ammy’s B assist and then dash in/FC teleport closer but if I get push blocked I’m back to square one. Should I be aiming at FC teleporting behind them while Ammy is still firing? Is that my main goal to zone in?

a good way to use this assist is to press :f: :h: + :a1:

then hold it forward as ammy shoots.

this can also lead to unblock able situations if timed correctly, as im sure you realize.

If you get ANYWHERE close enough to the blocker, :dp: :h: into combo. also, dont be afraid to use the hyper meter for a gun super if your having difficulty in getting in. punish them for a zoning action and then go in for the kill.

So what do you guys think of the second finding I posted? Maybe because it’s “my baby” I want to call this potential vortex the Jill Sandwich (because something needs to be called that).

Wow. I really like it actually. I thought the input would be difficult, but doing that + assist is rediculous. then :h: into a basic series then combo ending into DHC would be rage inducing
