The Martial Arts Movie Thread 2017 Donnie hates his fans

The more I see on this, the more hype I get. Love seing Sammo do his thing though.

Its cool seeing the choreography for this amazing fight scene. Great stuff.

Saw Kungfu Jungle a few days ago and I believe this film has Donnie’s best fight scenes
ever, but It probably won’t be to everyone’s liking. The only problem is there aren’t enough fight scenes.

Just got a hold of Die Fighting. Gonna check it out in a bit.

Yo Hyper that movie looks like total trash man

Yeah, but Ima give it a chance. Been a drought for martial art movies lately. Been looking for Kung Fu collections to watch. And been exhausting Hulu for old Samurai and Kung Fu movies (Chinese Hercules anyone?).

Yea defo, last MA movie I saw was the Ninja sequel with Scott Adkins, was so bad, like cringe worthy type shit, Netflix be killing me these days.

Only MA movie am legit looking forward too is this

if you havent seen Iceman you should check it out, a Donnie Yen flick but actually pretty decent action comedy.

I have Iceman on my list, but I feel that Donnie Yen is basically over saturating the market. I was soooo hype for Sleeping Dogs (I mean Special ID), and was ultimately let down. From how they turned Ken Lo into a pathetic jobber and just from the overall tone of the movie. It just felt goofy.

Need some refreshment for you martial arts movie drought? I present to you

too much flying kicks, its almost like they wanna distract you from the slow ass kicks. the choreo looks a little far fetched for something that seems to wanna imply some donnie yen style realism. i think id get bored of that movie real quick
shit i was bored of the trailer by the end.

So I watched this and couldn’t get past the first 20 mins. I had to turn it off. Just terrible acting, action and all around plot. It would have been better if it would have just focused on the stunt team trying to make it in Hollywood. But instead they decided to mix martial arts with Saw, Battle Royale and Manhunter. Avoid at all costs.

Inthe mean time here is some Kung Faux for you all.

A bunch of my friends worked on that production. I also almost got the director to choreograph my film two months ago but ended up goin with someone else. But i’m definitely curious how this one looks

I’m also partial to Squeek. LOL!!!

Yeah, that poor, naive thing.

I saw 2 version of Kungfu Jungle. Same storyline but different paced fight scenes. The undercranked (sped-up) fights in the first version looked so much better than the exact same but slower paced fight scenes in the 2nd version. The first 3 fight scenes in the film weren’t that good but the remaining three fight scenes were really good. There’s a sword fight mid-way that’s one of the best swordfighting I’ve ever seen. I’ll probably get hold of the fast paced version tomorrow. If anyone’s interested I can post the last 3 fight scenes on youtube, lol
actually I wouldn’t say the fight scenes were Donnie best but I preferred the last 3 fights to anything in Flash Point or SPL.
