The Martial Arts Movie Thread 2017 Donnie hates his fans

Did you ask him about those chinese herbal steroids?

Nope. But apparently he was big on using Apple Cider vinegar to cleanse his system

couldnt find the movie thread so imma post it in here instead.

what happens when you do “Taken” and “ong bak” and replace the elephant with a puppy. stunts should be fucking bomb…their done by the 87 eleven crew.

stupid premise but action looks good

Has anybody seen Caity Lotz’ The Machine?

Bolo Yeung and Cung Le.

Bolo Yeung’s son David.

Bolo Jr comes off as just a gym rat compared to his old man but thats probably just the awe and nostalgia talking.

Badges of Fury available on torrent

Spoiler

Good cameos involved

David Yeung aka Bolo Jr aka Baki, Son of Ogre

is badges of fury a spoof?

sounds like it is, still downloading atm ill let ya know later but its got a bunch of top quality MA dudes in it

Honestly if they ever decided to do a remake of Bloodsport (which I think they are). David could possibly play Chong Li.
I mean he does know how to film a fight scene. maybe not as brutal as dad, but he could make it work.

Its not bad. its a comedy for sure. has elements of spoof/satire, but most definitely not supposed to be a typical “serious” martial arts movie.

He definitely could be Chong Li in a Bloodsport remake, but who will play Frank Dux? I can’t imagine anyone else but Van Damme as the role.

david is not allowed to play chong li unless he goes through the marvel movies bulking system. nigga looks like he weighs 160 at best. fuck outta here with that weakass motivational video with his poor ass diet.

I think the remake has already been cast, I remember when we were talking about it a few weeks ago and JCVD role went to some stunt man who looks pretty legit

no need to panic with any “oh fuck its channing tatum again” type craziness

edit: then again it doesnt look too good or shit

Director is James McTeigue who did V for Vendetta and Ninja Assassin, AD for Matrix trilogy, exec producers include Mark DiSalle thankfully (director/producer/writer? Kickboxer and produced Bloodsport) and interestingly Daniel Bernhardt, who was like the shitty JCVD replacement that starred in some respectable B movie MA stuff in the 90s/00s and that Mortal Kombat series (lol).

Never a fan of remakes of the classics, but it seems there is enough exp and OG talent to make this thing not suck ass completely.

do you know who is playing jcvd’s role…i never heard who it was.

btw tony jaa posting stunt practice videos on facebook lol a few wtf moments as per usual.

I saw that vid he posted. Shared it in my martial arts group. Jaa is a weird dude, lol.

So Keanu Reeves is determined to be an action dude now. I wish he would loosen up. Dip back into the old Bill and Ted films. Dude is way too stiff in fight scenes and in overall acting.

Cant find the source I had ages ago with the stuntmans name unfortunately but on the plus side there isnt any confirmed actors attached either from what I gather. Only big downside is that the story is a Phoenix Rising type rip off, Serviceman goes to Brazil and enters a competition…

Why dont that story burn in a fucking fire, and they send some martial artist to Hong Kong to fight in an underground triad sponsored competition vs other styles, aka World Warrior, aka the way its meant to be god damnit. Reading this bullshit honestly sometimes.

Its due out next year so probably get some real info soon though.

Edit: I love Keanu Reeves, i have no problem with his acting or his style or even his action but yea, nigga needs to chill out

Edit2: Well all my hopes and dreams can be fucking under the bus if this has anything to do with reality

Bautista (was cool in GotG but fuck off), Tony Jaa (Check it out I can do the same flip and kick in every god damn movie am in) GSP (am famous for greasing up and sleeping on dudes for money) and ofcourse my fucking favourite, Scott Adkins, ie the weak sauce version of Gary Daniels. Undisputed 2 and 3 were awesome but everything else… meh. Please Jebus let this all be bullshit.

Well i know for the Kickboxer remake they have Alain Moussi playing JCVD’s character. I believe Jaa is in it as well.

Here is the interviewwith the actor about the film.

Yup cast is just out for Kickboxer remake not Bloodsport, had a smoke and calmed down. At least Kickboxer is staying true to the story

So Jackie is supposed to be starring along side Gibson in his new Dragon Blade movie coming out next year. Meanwhile was just informed by my girl that the reason we haven’t seen Jet Li in forever is because he is on some chinese version of X-factor as a judge.
