What do you use to begin this frame trap? You think a St.hk, cr.mp would be good? And you cancel the cr.mp into the Dragon Charge and if they attack you get the counterhit? Or if they don’t go for the overhead?
Sounds really sick, gonna try it out. Has anyone tried dash cancelling his SSK for more pressure or ccombos?
Also, someone with the guide, can you tell me his strings/normals that are advantageous on block? I’m kinda just using my ghetto setups as I mentioned above. Thanks.
Law’s normals are weird. Moves that normally don’t move him forward like st.LK, cr.LK, cr.MK will actually start to inch him forward depending on the rythym that you press them. Most of the time mashing works. Just to be clear, I am talking about when you whiff them.
ive currenty watching sxsw sfxt invitational tournament and saw how rip’s law got bodied by alex valle’s ryu. im starting to think ryu is a bad match up for law. because against good ryus its a struggle to pull of the win. where im use to the match up in ssf4 with the army of ryus online. in this game ryu seems broken… anyone think so?
I usually start it with cr,Lk, cr,Lp, cr,Mp, st.Hp xx Dragon charge.
If your fishing for the frametrap it’s fairly easy to land. If you see the (counterhit) just punch. It’s a bit tricky but I try and follow that up with an overhead after the crumple. It causes a groundbounce and leaves you with alot of ways to combo afterwards.
Finally got the game, Law meets my impressions he’s awesome, i just wish his VA was different but none the less he’s awesome and powerful.
I’ve been having trouble opening up people though. Granted i’m pretty new to the game so this is probably some things i’m going to work out. For the most part i’ve just been approaching with Dragon Charge -> Dragon Kick on dash/whiff punishes and then proceeded to do some c.LP or Dragon Knuckle overhead. Any recommendations for approaching and attacking? I seem to be on the defensive allot, though baiting people with Dragon Charge does seem to work, they go into punish and they eat a Cloud Gate or a Dragon Kick.
My basic BnB is premature but it does some damage s.LP, s.MP, 4s, Knuckle Rush, c.HP, Dragon Charge xx Dragon Punch, Dragon Kick does around 237.
I’m really liking law in this game. I have been having some problems pressuring with him though. Also, he has a surprising amount of synergy with Vega with his roll and flash kick.
Only on anticpation it’s hard to do it on reaction though it does seem to work. Plus getting somersault to match their jump in is kind of difficult at times.
How do you guys feel about actively doing dragon charges during neutral? Dragon knuckle seems like a reasonable aa with very good reward if you can land it.
Now that i got the guide i can say his normals and walkspeed are below average. He might be a midtier with high damage potential (making him good for tagging into, specially he’s good to tagout with shaolin kicks and tummy punches)
