That was always my problem with SF4, it has some of the weirdest hit-boxes of any game I’ve played. Things that look like they should hit no problem whiff.

That, and I hate how like every move is punishable on block, even normals. It’s hard to play footsies when anything but a jab gets punished if they block. Leads to way to many staring contests.

Yeah just look at Rose’s hitboxes… you’ll notice her scarf doesn’t hit anything… not on her neutral jump fierce, not on her focus attack… not on standing fierce… nothing.

That’s not entirely true though. Alot of mediums are virtually safe on block as long as you aren’t point blank. Like using ken’s cr.mp to catch throw techs from its mid range. Even if its blocked, your safe from most everything.

I feel like a lot of the offense of the game is now based on OS’s and ambiguous stuff. Like ryu/ken’s crossup j.hp.

SF4, you say? Cool. Here’s what’s wrong with it and why it sucks:

Moves that should be punishable…aren’t.
JAB JAB JAB JAB JAB JAB
Focus attacks are too powerful and do not have universal properties
Stages too large
Zoning barely exists, no balance between that and rushdown
Reversals way too easy
AA priority is messed up, trades too much with j.rh
Option selects (it plays the game for you)

It seems like Capcom’s priority with SF4 was to introduce full-stage taunting and trolling rather than a decent engine. Anyway, worst Street Fighter ever made. I’d score it around a 7/10.

EDIT: You know a game engine SUCKS when people can actually stay full-screen and taunt for a whole round.

Yeah that is stupid.

Anyone know if dbz kai is worth buying? Is it actually filler free and uncut like it says on the box.

It is “filler free” in the sense that they seriously truncated the original series. I think they fit the Vegeta Saga through Cell saga in like 110 episodes or something (I have no idea why they skipped buu saga). As for uncut, they actually edited quite a few scenes from the original for some reason. Not like DBZ was boobs and blood or anything and it wasn’t worse than what Pioneer did to the original US dub, but still noticeable.

Actually some parts of dbz did have blood well kind of. Like when piccolo shoots radditz and goku at the beginning. There were moments like that.

I have the manga, and I’m just wondering how good kai is.

Perhaps they haven’t done the buu saga yet?

Also, some stuff in the manga is really short. Trunks v frieza an king cold was literally like 3 pages. The entire fight.

That was literally one of the things edited. Pretty sure there is just a black hole in Goku’s chest after taking the masenkosappo.

I really liked the anime version of Trunks vs Freiza/King Cold (with the exception that Trunks beat them way too easily).

Well he was suppose to outclass them. Damn so its still edited for amerian middle school children.

I might buy it if it is completely filler free though. Dbz is pretty awesome animated.

I’m hype for Torchlight 2. Diablo like gameplay, but without the corporate evil - it will let you play your own game offline, on your own network!

Diablo II allowed that, but you had to play with your local characters. And you could not kill at higher difficulty levels with half the high level skills without impossible-to-find stuff.

I have played that game for years, and it was a very stupid thing to do. I seriously advise everyone not to play Diablo or any similar games (grind to find stuff, or grind to try to find stuff): it is a waste of your life.

On the other hand i don’t like the direction D3 is going in terms of skills and building a char.
Way more looking forward to Torchlight 2 especially since Torchlight 1 would have been better than D3 already if it had multiplayer.

I’m afraid that D3 is undergoing the WoWification process. I mean I love Blizzard and my faith in them has never had a reason to be shaken… but to say I’m concerned is an understatment. In the diablo 3 thread in GD I posted a link to a monk build I made in 5 minutes who looked EXACTLY like a WoW Holy Priest…

I was not a happy camper…

Oh well, at least I know Blizzard can’t possibly screw up Heart of the Swarm… Can they?
