The old, high-watt power bricks are rated 203W and 16.5A on the sticker on the bottom. The old, high-watt systems will say “16.5A” on the back, above the AC adapter plug. The new, low-watt power bricks are rated 175W at 14.2A.
The newer, low-watt systems should be able to use both the old, high-watt metal-tip adapaters AND the new, low-watt plastic-tip adapters. So if a system can use both, it’s a new low-watt system and only needs the low-watt plastic tip adapter.
So there we have it, folks. Mandel’s fucking power adapter grew legs and up and walked out of his house. This plastic one I have came from absolutely nowhere. I give up.
also what mandel and i found out was the older 360’s that take the metal tip 203w adaptor have a piece of plastic that will block the plastic tip adaptor from the 175w plastic tip from going in there.
Had to bump this thread back up. Anyway, Elias will be getting his adapter back from me pretty soon. In the event he doesn’t get it back from me, he’ll be the one without a working XBox instead of me and that isn’t fair as we know he’s not the one responsible for what happened. Are people still planning on chipping in for a new adapter?
Okay so here’s what’s up. Icenine Chris gave me a call a little while ago stating that he’s about 99% sure that he has an adapter that will work with my XBox that he doesn’t need anymore and that he’s willing to give it to me. I made sure to let him know that my XBox needs a metal adapter and he stated that his has a metal end. So assuming his works with mines, everything will be squared away and we can forget this nonsense ever happened.
The adapter he’s offering up is from an old 360 of his that he doesn’t use anymore. He saw the diagram and called me up to be sure. So I think this is just about over my friend.
Actually I hadn’t seen Elias’s MSPaint masterpiece but now that I did I’m 100% sure it’s the one you need since it has that small square socket in the middle rather than the two longer ones.
The north/south distance sucks but next time you’re in the middle at GW or Bellevue gimme a call. Otherwise, I’ll just give it to you at Zach’s or Jmar’s.
