Fei is a interesting situation, he has the tools yet he remains a low tier in all of his incarnations dating back from turbo to the present day. I think we should all be aiming for a “mid tier” fei at this point, but from what we have seen so far we should exptect yet another installment of the low tier show with fei lol.

after this past tourney i learned that down FP stops Sagats RH , and some other stuff…its also possible to abuse him with Medium CW in the corner,it crosses over then back in front when he blocks low. it only does this to Him for some reason

Fei’s FP stops a lot of things. C.FP has pretty good priority compared to most other crouching attacks. Same with his j.FP. If the opponent is far from me (like with SIM in your match-up) and I needed to get close via jumping, I’ll hit J.FP in the middle of my jump if SIM takes to the air just in case he wants to attack me.
Only move I think we all have seen was Sagat’s uppercut charge/evasion move. The only move that has been modified that I’ve seen has been Ryu’s fierce DP, which now hits twice. I’m sure a lot more things will change, but only time will tell.
btw, Anyone else think that capcom was like… “Meh they are complaining about fei’s counter ultra. Anyone know what we should do?” … “do you think we should change it some how? like make it into a command throw or something?” … “Nah we’ll just give them a free costume, they wont know the difference.” lol just a thought.

I’m glad for both of Fei’s ultra being different. I dont get the point of having 2 comboable/offensive Ultras. like Sagat’s new one. I dont get what it could have over his first one besides safety.
I have no clue why people keep asking CW to be overhead, as it is already an overhead.
Well, you have to calculate distance in order to make the last hit strike the back of your opponent, but still, this is not so hard to perform.
Hell, you can even chain a MP after it.

CW is not an overhead, under any circumstances. what you’re talking about is the occasionaly Cross-up Chicken wing on crouching opponents from specific distances.
For CW to get back its overhead, it would have to go back to its ST arc/speed/startup or something similar. Just putting overhead on the current CW would own charge characters(the ones that need d/u charge to reversal) more than it did in ST.

In “Jab fighter 4” CW is actually beaten out by many normals. Having the hit box be overhead doesn’t change the fact that most normals and specials can just plain hit Fei out of it.
In any case, how do you guys feel about some idea I had? Ultra 1, if it pretty much stays uncomboable and redicously short ranged, should it be balanced by doing significantly more tick damage?
^^ i really dont think tick damage would make it ANY better… case in point, blankas ultra does mucho tick but is NEVER used for it.
the problem with fei getting los of tick damage is basically… WHEN do you throw it out?
you cant at neutral unless your opponent doesnt have ultra… and thats likely to only be like 1% of the time.
theres just never really a good time to throw out an ultra, for blocked damage alone except for the instnce of activating it when they jumpin.
like i often have opponents that have no life… but i cant tick damage them with chuns ultra cause they will just counter activate and kill me.
only time this really isnt in play is when certain ultras will still win versus an ultra that was activated second… like rog can do his ultra to chun and she cant counter activate cause her invincibility runs out before his does… but i think situations like that are the exception not the rule.
