The obviously best solution would be to reduce the hitstun on cl.hp to like 17 so that HK CW can’t conbo after it but rekkas, flame kick and super still works.

Ah, that would be the best solution… Also on a side note, 400 meterless punish combo is a joke in terms of damage. What other character can do that kind of damage? Don’t get me wrong, I love Fei Long and have been using him in competitive tournaments from the beginning but those numbers alone leave me to believe they can’t keep it in.

What i don’t understand is why didn’t they fix U1 for fadc 3 hit consistency. I mean seriously wtf are these capcom idots doing. Just increase the DAMN HIT BOX.

And now a definite change to CW (with no confidence in capcom’s testing skills)
breaks his keyboard

Not really. If you have a full ultra you should always use that instead of the cl.mp x HK CW combo. Outside of punishes HK CW is just a very high risk/high reward move. Sakura’s meterless combo options are way more broken than st.mp x HK CW and are way easier to connect and is safe on block.

Don’t know if this has been mentioned but Fuerte U2 punishes the 1st lp rekka on block. Even with proper spacing it’s punishable.

Here’s another solution.

Keep the Juri infinite situation isolated. If no one uses it (No recordings!) then they may not patch it.

If a balance patch does arrive, hopefully they overlooked Fei since they didn’t get word on the infinite.

Wishful thinking…

http://www.shoryuken.com/wiki/index.php/Ken_(SFIV)

Ken can do it out of a jump-in into cl.HK> HK Tatsu, or to punish just starting with cl.HK (roughly 350).

And lol, Balrog can do it with a Turn Punch close to full charge :-p

I think having that damage utility is what Fei needs to be competitive. Just think about 70-80% of the match–you’ll be doing the BnB, not punishes. In that case, Fei loses enormously to other characters especially for his lack of safe specials.

Following a diagram, Fei does less damage over a long period of time and can make up for it with a larger comeback without meter. Other characters do more damage over a long period of time. It should average out. Akuma for instance, will be able to hit you with 300 damage pretty regularly, then run away from you.

On top of this, most other characters have better Ultras in general.

Woot! at point blank, you can do cr.mp, cr.mp, cr.lp xx rekkas on T.Hawk!

edit: cr.mp combo x3! wtf

edit2: this only works on a crouching T.Hawk BUT cr.mp, cr.lp, cr.lp xx rekkas works when he is standing

edit3: cr.mp, st.lp, cr.lp xx rekkas!!

edit4: cr.mp, st.lp, cr.mp both crouching and standing T.Hawk!

edit5: cl.mp, cr.mp, cr.lp xx rekkas!

edit6: 8 hits combos BnB works on him ex: cr.lk, st.lp, st.lp, st.lp, cr.lp xx rekkas

edit7: cr.lk, st.lp, cr.mp, cl.lp xx rekkas! 206 dmg bnb

T.Hawk is a combo fest! this guy gonna have major problems…

Lol, very nice  Now are these absolute point-blank as in walk-up to T. Hawk until you’re pressing against him? Or are these from jump-in attempts? Jump-ins are a little more spaced out.

having chicken is advantageous, using chicken is chicken, and abusing chicken is winning.

Perhaps juri users could just not use juri against fei? Sounds good, let’s promote it.

as a Fei main CW is cheap in its own way but is very character specific. For ex. Spamming it against Abel and Gouken works wonders and is always a good way to get hate mail. Im not even sure if its possible for them to get out of it since the Abels i play usually cant unless lag screws up my input.

There are ways to get out of it… Technically easy to escape if you know what’s going on. It’s an option limiter, not an instant death trap. Abels online are just inexperienced.

Got to play a lot of super tonight. Fei feels great. Most of the new characters are absolutely no threat to Fe once you get the matchup down. Adon is not a problem EX CW and HKCW with proper spacing and timing will shut down his HK spam really quick if you land the cl.hp FK combo. Besides that, the guy has really nothing to be afraid of. Hawk is easy to zone out…like really easy.

As for the returning cast, Guile is a bitch. Seriously, I dunno what Fei players are going to do against him. Also it could be my lack of knowledge about the matchup but Sakura gave me a hell of a time. Seems like everything she does is safe. When she has meter I felt helpless and could only take all that chip damage off her rushdown and now with the crossup she’s down right monsterous. Any info on the matchup would be a HUGE help.

All this being said…if Fei loses the new/old HKCW it might ruin him as a character. I’m talking really low tier.

I’m still curious as to exactly what Fei has gained to magically change all of his shitty un-fun matchups. I’ve seen nothing terribly compelling since footage first started leaking out.

PS. Guile was always going to murder him with the faster charge time. You shouldn’t seem surprised by that.

What about Fei’s walking speed - is it increased now?

doesn’t look it it in his trail mode video. Then again, they said they’ve changed the cw input, which isn’t the case in that video either.

btw, i saw hk(?) cw crosses up on Dan up close. Dunno if that is a good thing…

EX CW crosses him up in Vanilla so I am sure that the HK one might at the right distance.

so what is the new CW input?

Perhaps they just made the input more lenient - so while it’s officially still :db::d::df::r::uf:+:k: maybe :qcf:+:k: also works…

CW in Super seems to be: :db::d::df::r::uf:

Contrast this to vanilla: :hcf::uf:

You should get one free input and can do CW more easily out of crouch block.
