So Modern is being taken over by Eldrazi Aggro. It’s actually really well-positioned against Abzan, which is my deck of choice. One possible update that I am considering to to address the match-up is Desecration Demon. This 6/6 flyer actually comes down early enough to matter, matches up really well to their beaters and lives through Dismember. If you have any other suggestions, let me know. But this is what I am trying out for now.
Told you guys/gals that all of the gods (Eldrazi) will be powerful in all formats once OotG dropped… So has anyone tried this yet:

And other colorless producing lands, etc…
Cloudposts are banned in Modern. I’m sure the Eldrazi will find their way into Legacy at some point though. Eldrazi Mimic is ridiculous, 2/1 for 0 with Eye and it can be a 10/10, a lot of the time it’s a 4/4. You can turn 3 kill with them. Drop 1 or more t1 with Eye, turn 2 drop a Thought-Knot Seer and t3 drop a Reality Smasher for 18 damage total. If you drop a second Mimic or they crack a couple of fetches it’s game.
Because Modern doesn’t rotate, it keeps things fresh and stops certain decks dominating. Vintage exists for no-bans. Legacy for higher powered stuff in a more structured format. Modern is basically Extended.
Path to exile, then again the only thing path doesnt kill is hexproof and pro white.
Eldrazi Temple is pretty bullshit
They only work when Eldrazi misses on Chalice for one.
you should post a deck list, cause ive never head of the deck.
nm, I checked out 10 deck list, and none Eldrazi Aggro decks use chalice. I mean why would you, when you are using expedition map to get Eldrazi Temple

It was the breakout deck of the Pro Tour. Three of the top 8 decks ran 4 Chalices.
It’s gonna be interesting to see how the meta shapes up afterwards, because this clearly is the deck to beat at the moment. It could also be Wizards just decide to ban Eye of Ugin.
Seems pretty bad to chal for 1 and lost your stuff as well, but heres what i found for best removal

Look at the decklist I posted. There’s not a single 1-drop in that list. It’s part of why Chalice is so good in eldrazi aggro.
There were games in the top 8 where that card single-handedly won games, for the record.
seems like doom blade and go for the throat are good for SB, go for the throat seems better for main. Hero’s downfall seems alright. Oblivion Ring, Fiend Hunter, slaughter pact, seems ok for sb
The Temple is like Tron that doesn’t need assembling when you’re talking about running a deck of Eldrazi, so yeah, it’s pretty good. Temple is less of an issue than Eye of Ugin though. Eye of Ugin makes Mimic free and if you’re dropping more than one body in a turn you’re generating essentially way more than two mana, that’s without Urborg letting you tap the thing as actual land.

Lean heavily on Damnation (3 copies?) and possibly an additional Tasigur? I don’t really see 1 for 1 removal getting there.

Victim of the Night all day every day. Truth is you only have to worry about certain threats. If you really want the tech, gimme a couple of days. Been thinking on other colors and haven’t thought about doing the BGx tech stuff.

Porphyry Nodes
The issue is that it’d be at its best when powered by something else. So you’d have to run a token maker for the turns in which it doesn’t have anything to kill. Otherwise you are running a strictly worse version of Chain to the Rock (which is an option).
Looking into the lands that produce tokens would be the way to go about making Porphyry Nodes into a viable threat inside of Abzan midrange. Or you know, you could run it in my super secret tech deck.
Either way, off to SF4 with ya, saying silly shit like that. IRC nonsense.

lol at worship skyrocketing out of nowhere, bought 2 of them for the early versions of prison at like .50 each. Talk about a out of nowhere 30$ gain. Gotta love a sideboard card that just kills Eldrazi lol. Better get them up for sale ASAP before they are a junk rare again.

I feel like Worship is a shitty card for that purpose. You lose it to Thought-Knot Seer and then what? At least you have a reasonable chance of casting Painter’s Servant.
I really like the Eye of Ugin Expedition art, but I feel like I’m just waiting for either Eye or Temple to get banned now and so can’t pull the trigger to buy one. Should be very interesting to see the MTGO metagame evolve over the next month.
(Doesn’t Worship also not save you from any Eldrazi deck with Ulamog, Ceaseless Hunger in it?)
Even if they don’t are can’t exile it or the creature you’re using to “power” it just by casting Ulamog due to something like Greater Auramancy and some type of hexproof or shroud, they still win against a Worship deck like any other by obliterating your library like two or three turns.

FWIW most of them aren’t currently playing Ulamog:
I think generally most anti-Eldrazi strategeries are going to be pretty fucked right now. Anything over 2 mana you’re probably going to lose to Thought-Knot, and anything 2 mana or under is going to die to Ratchet Bomb. Thought-Knot kills your answers, Reality Smasher is a nightmare once landed, and Dr. Owner helps you never have good blocks. The fifteen sideboard slots look to be just gravy.
I’m looking forward to see where things are a month from now.
(Yeah, I already saw that. I just meant in general. Hence why I said “also”.)
Oh well. I guess we’ll see what our new non-Emrakul Eldrazi inflict on Modern in the next month or so. I highly doubt that Eye of Ugin get banned in just a month though, especially all the money it’s going to make WotC. In the meanwhile, at least Thought-Knot Seer can’t around Leyline of Sanctity and doesn’t trigger just from being cast.
