What’s the difference? I’m kinda lost there. I know there’s an uproar against “nice” guys, who are only really doing nice things on the pretense they’ll get sex or to be manipulative somewhere else later.

But I don’t know the difference between nice and kind, assuming you don’t need quotes when describing a nice person.

There’s a different between being nice to get what you want and just being a genuinely kind person. I think that’s what he’s trying to say. Kinda like “fake it until you make it” as compared to “just be yourself”, I guess.

Like I have coworkers who always get high praise at work but as soon as their off register they’re pieces of shit. Where as I have a few coworkers who are just genuinely very kind and nice people regardless of situation.

Sometimes people have a hard time picking up on which is which.

Or maybe I’m just complete off base. :woman_shrugging:t3: I don’t know. I didn’t watch the video. Probably won’t either.

100% this too. My last two jobs got me no where from my “being nice”. At my current job I’ve been much more assertive about what I want, need as well as expect and it’s paid dividends.

Being nice is by putting the other person’s wants or needs for the response to something above your own. It’s when you are being polite for the sake of doing so. Being kind is maintaining your own wants or needs while handling them with grace. It is also when you are caring in real earnest. Kindness is more of an assertive behavior. It’s telling people how it is, without necessarily being a dick in the process.

Being kind is when you mimic each other. Like being of the same kin and of the same kind. Kindness is likeness. Likeness comes from being well-liked. Being nice can get you liked, but not always. That there is the difference.

Huh?

Someone posted this and it showed up in my feed.

Poor girl

Paraphrased “I hope Japan can be nice to other races, like the US.”

I need to stop liking things. They become shit later on, then I hate them. Fuuuck.

I think the difference between a nice and kind person is that the former is willing to inconvenience themselves to help others if asked. While the later does so of their own accord. It’s no inconvenience because they wanted to do it.

This is imo why kindness > being nice. A kind person imo is more genuine. They will do kind things just because. But if they dont feel like doing it. They can be assertive and let you know they just dont want to do it this time. A nice person tends to lack that assertiveness. And will more often than not reluctantly do things asked of them.

Niceness is insincere, kindness is genuine.

Niceness is what I show my customers at work.
Kindness goes towards my friends and family.

White women benefit the most from it

Like honestly feminist in the last 30 years has become i am an oppressed white woman

I can rail on white privelege because in my life i have seen white people get away with so much bullshit that when a colored is percieved to may have done somethinf they get the book thrown at them

And really it is the white woman who is a protected species. And it is white men in power wanting to keep that status

Do not get me started on the trans stuff. I know redrock loves the new halfs. But man the whole letting kaitlyn jenner get away with vehicular manslaughter because trans and rich was bullshit

South park always hits that sweet spot

But again i put that on rich whiteness

Trans people have it rough

But this protected class shit is bs reserved for select few

They must be opening a Texas facility

that’s what I’m thinking too, now that you’re saying that. Texas law states in order for sales tax to be collected, you have to have a physical presence in the state (warehouse et al).
