Well the people in the story he linked are probably way different than the his friend’s in laws.
Odin got that whole Canadian thing where being a responsible gun owner is a terrible thing. All of the gun owners I know dont keep loaded hand guns lying around. All that stuff is locked up securely.
also keep in mind that every part of the US is different in how they teach subjects like that. Things, say down here in the south are taught way differently than you see taught in the Pacific Northwest or even on the East Coast. Most of the teaching stigmas associated with these subjects are generational in nature as well.
Yea agreed I don’t know anyone with a gun who leaves it sitting around loaded, safety off, yada yada. He linked the story so I was just using it as a bit of a jumping off point.
I know two different cops who don’t keep their service guns locked up, one of whom has had their toddler kid get ahold of it unsupervised.
Also know a grandfather who babysits and faced charges recently for not securing his several firearms.
That’s not me attacking gun ownership- it’s just a reality that even so-called “responsible” people get lazy.
Thankfully not the people I know.
That one cop whose kid grabbed his service weapon deserves a kick in the head.
We bought our current house about 2 and 1/2 years ago. Previous owner died and the kids flipped the house. Our home inspector found a loaded sawed off hidden above a board near the ceiling of basement storage closet, in a place I will never have a reason to look.
Without that home inspector, probably would have been one of my kids finding that shotgun in a few years. America, man.

Not going to lie, the house was a pretty good deal in a couple of ways 
Unlit closet under the basement stairs, board running along the wall above the door inside the closet, gun on top of the board. It’s about a 2/3rds normal sized door to accommodate the space, so you kind of lean over just to get in there. No reason you would ever normally look up at the board, never mind suspect there was anything on top of it
What was really funny for me was clearing out my grandpa’s house after he died. We found his little little revolver and old rifle in the closet. Both empty, we expected to find them. What we didn’t expect to find was a removable wall next to safe with enough ammo hiddin in there to start fucking WWIII. No idea what an 88 year old man who couldn’t even fire his guns anymore without breaking his wrists could possibly need all that fucking ammo for lol.

Plenty of people to clown. But for w/e wacky ass reason people keep finding GD first. So while that gets sorted out, I need a momentary cease fire. Gotta figure out a way for people to post somewhere other than here to begin with.
There are plenty of stickies at the top of GD and I’m pretty sure it still even says on the front page of the forum in desktop mode that GD is for everything NOT FGC related.
I mean fuck, Saikyo Dojo and SFV discussion forums are the #1 and #3 forum sections on the front page of the forums.
If they can’t figure out where to go based off all that then they deserved to be bodied, imo.

Like, GD is almost at the bottom of the page of the forum main page whether you’re on mobile or desktop. They’re passing by the sections they need to go to in order to post in a place that doesn’t deal with any of that. The sections they want are literally at the top of the page. 
They need to not be lazy and figure that out. That’s all
