The Lounge: Does Leroy Smith Listen to Wu-tang?

I liked Rug Rats. Never really watched Hey Arnold.

I like shows to have a unique look that fits the show. Big fat heads fit Rugrats because babies are fat ugly sacks of flesh. Was perfect. Doesn’t mean I want all my shows to look like that tho. The big round heads works well for Amazing Adventures of Gumball to.

Watch hey Arnold. Good stuff.

Also, did someone say GUMBALL?

and my faves:

show will be a classic once it’s off the air for the younger set.

I love the way the show takes simple premises from every day life and runs them to their absolute extreme conclusion.

It’s fucking bonkers.

Yeah, I don’t really watch that show, but I always find myself liking the clips for that exact reason.

I dare say it’s the best animated show running from the last decade. it has a neat balance between the jokes it and the heartwarming moments, pop culture that will age but can still be hilarious years from now. It reminds me of the 90’s golden era of cartoons that were also tight on the good writing and on point humor (that ranges from dry comments to sight gags).

The show has the most amazing reaction faces. That never gets old. The face they pull when they do something they know is shitty…its so good.

okay one more post on this because I can’t get enough:

I’ve never watched Gumball consistently or regularly. What I’ve caught of it or what clips I’ve seen on YouTube or whatever I’ve liked. Just not enough to go out of my way to watch it.

It’s anyone with money. It’s thrashers fault for selling their logo to companies. They sell retro shit in pacsun that we grew up with and no one would be caught dead in unless you were actually into it

This one had me wracking my brains, and for a minute I was thinking maybe Garfield and Friends was the best 80s cartoon show I could come up with.

But both Robotech and The Simpsons were in the 80s, so it wasn’t completely bottom of the barrel shit for animated TV shows.

Oh shit, DuckTales was 87.

Yea I would say Ducktales. Strong enough to kick off that Disney Afternoon they did for a while giving us show like Tailspin and Gooftroop.

On FightCade?

Teddy Ruxpin with those 2 wizards and those goblins!!!

It was not until recently when I knew that Robotech was the product of a mishmash between 3 different anime, and the only “true” Robotech was the whole Rick Hunter/Zentraedi arc.

I swore that the arc with the blonde chick was supposed to be Max Sterling’s daughter but NOPE! Turns out it was a whole different anime called Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross

I HAVE LIVED A LIE!

Been messing around with these music maker apps. I prefer to create my own melodies, but is using preset drum loops considered cheating? Trynna see something here🤔

If you’re talking about Gumball you got to post this classic

Also this Dragon Ball inspired episode

There are a lot do standard drumming patterns for all sorts of styles. So it wouldnt really be “cheating” in the way you think it is.

Thanks, this seems to be the common answer I get from ppl. I feel like drum loops save time and are good if I don’t over indulge in them. Also kinda helps me when I have the music equivalent of writers block

That isnt as much an issue as people jaming together things written in different time signatures together.

Heard some “loops” that were basically assembled musical schizophrenia.

Back in the day my shit sounded like that til I finally learned wtf I was doing. Producing is murder on cats like me with no musical background. First tracks sounded like the basement theme from the director’s cut of Resident Evil😂
