The Lounge: Does Leroy Smith Listen to Wu-tang?

They’ll just have to compete as “Olympic Athletes” so it’s all figurative. Them doped up super athletes are still going to bring gold medals home to Mother RUSSIA

This will always be bullshit to me. If anyone follows sports and pays attention to the doping agencies and policies you understand how corrupt it is. Every country worth shit cheats… Every fuckin one.

Ok, Boomer is the most tedious thing to come around in years.

Yeah right kid, I’m sure the industrialists of your generation won’t fuck up the world just as much. And if they do, you’ll be there to stop them. Good luck with that.

People aren’t "Ok Boomer"ing cuz they think they won’t fuck it up. They are doing it because Boomerd fucked it up but blame it on everyone else. People are tired of being blamed, insulted and treated like shit for something they had almost nothing to do with.

It’s a pejorative used to dismiss an argument based on the age of the person making the argument.

I’m all for dismissing shit arguments, but come on. It’s a bunch of social media woke people pretending to improve society by indulging in ageism.

Not really as it gets thrown at people no matter the age. I’ve been called a Boomer multiple times since it’s become a thing and I am 34.

No it’s people treating boomers the way Boomers have treated them the past 30+ years. They are being dismissed because they are extremely dismissive of any argument they don’t like. They don’t even debate against it they just call you a young whiney millennial and keep it moving. That’s why this is a thing. Young people have been dismissed by old people as lazy stupid and entitled Millenials so now it’s being thrown back at them as old crusty dusty farts who don’t really have much to contribute to modern discourse besides dismissive labeling of young people. Doesn’t feel good when the shoes on the other foot right? To constantly be told you’re the problem but have no solutions attached to the critisism. They are simply meeting Boomers on the same play field.

I’m not saying it’s a great argument or anything. It’s just one turn deserving another, thats all.

I mean…that’s literally what our parents generation and older are doing by calling millennials and young “entitled” and “too sensitive” and all this shit.

People are finally getting tired of older people thinking they can get away with generational racism, sexism, bigoted and out of touch views in general because of some age driven entitlement of “respect”. Respect isn’t given. It’s earned.

Also their entire generation has almost collapsed the worlds economy several times.

They think their way of life is still how things are done. They aren’t.

Part time jobs can’t even pay rent anymore but they expect us to have a full time job or multiple part time jobs to get a fraction of what they got just working part time over the summer.

The list goes on and on. They’re not wanting to be held accountable and find it “insulting” that people are calling them out on their bullshit and making them accountable.

I’ve worked in customer service my whole life and boomers are generally the ones who’ve been pieces of shit to me. People around my age or a little younger? Super nice.

We were told by our parents, the media, our grandparents, important people in our lives that we have the power to change the future. And when we’re actually trying to we get looked down upon. Fuck them.

OK boomer is literally a response to boomers unending hate of millenials. Also it’s a direct response to the media, every month we saw a “millenials aren’t buying this expensive shit so we blaming this”… Fast food joints, diamond rings, babies… We are getting blamed for all of it. We get called entitled and lazy yet these articles talk about them saving money and not affording luxury shit

So which is it… We are lazy and entitled or working non stop because we can’t afford expensive and luxury shit

I saw an article blaming millenials for Buffalo Wild Wings getting closed down in places. Nigga wat

Oh the compilations of article head lines blaming Millenials for everything are massive. I saw an article that said Millenials killed Bar Soap. The fuck?

Idk guys, I guess you run into in different contexts than I do. I either see it from the Jezebel set who don’t see the hypocrisy of it.

Or I see it from people I know personally shitting on old people without seeing their own culpability in shit. Had a friend Ok, Boomer the way Boomers treat the environment. Except he did it on Facebook, without acknowledging the fuck ton of negative environmental impact it takes to let him be snarky on the fucking internet.

And that’s it right there. No entire generation ever did anything. Most people just barely skate by living their lives. How many of your Boomer relatives set national and international banking regulations?

Neither, but for like the last decade most of those articles have been written by Gen-Xers and Millennials churning out internet clickbait.

My old karate school I worked for was owned by the millionaire. We would have weekly meetings, and this nigga was pro fuckin trump. But I didn’t grow up being taught by him so I wasnt indoctrinated to his bullshit. He would constantly shit on millenials every week talking about the lazyness of them. I’m sitting in these meetings going… “wait… Every school that makes you money is headed up a millennial”.

He literally made millions off the backs of millenials work. But everyone there was a yes man and he was a master manipulator. Nigga straight up made these people not feel like they could go anywhere of he wasn’t involved. He bought some of them cars and wouldn’t shut the fuck up about it. Bragging. Dude was wild.

While I agree it’s Gen xers writing it. It’s boomers who believe it. We are all hip to the click bait game and wild ass titles needed to get paid per click. But boomers don’t understand or refuse to believe that’s what’s going on. They get baited so fuckin hard.

One has nothing to do with the other. As previously mentioned it’s a blanket response for all the dumb shit boomers do, have done, continue to do, and believe. Being my relative or not is irrelevant.

Yea naw sorry when my own Grandfather a U of A Professor for 30 years won’t except that university would have put me in debt for the rest of my life and that logic doesn’t make me a lazy do nothing, I have little sympathy for old people who won’t educate themselves about modern times while talking shit about me and my work ethic. I dunno no Jezebell bullshit I avoid that Sarlaac Pit myself.

But that’s one guy with an obvious bias choosing to be dumb about something.

You probably also know plenty of older people who also decided they couldn’t afford to go to college, and they get it when you come to the same conclusion.

I’ve seen people use the phrase “gatekeeping” and “smash is a fighting game” unironically.

Hell there’s people who think twitter has value.

Who even knows whats going on anymore!
