Composer Robert J. Walsh has passed away at the age of 70.
He was one of the 2 composers on the G1 Transformers show along with Johnny Douglas (who passed away n 2004).
Most of the Season 3 rock/synthesizer tracks inspired by the movie were by him.
He also composed soundtracks for many other movies and TV shows such as G.IJOE , Jem , Defenders of the Earth, Inhumanoids, Fraggle Rock, and Muppet Babies.

My favorite fantasy series has 2 of the main characters taken by slavers and raped. In the first book.
Soā¦basically if the fantasy world has slaves, somebody is getting raped. The first episode isnāt even that shocking when it comes to rape scenes. Fucking christ, Sons of Anarchy season 2 had a brutal rape scene and then they LITERALLY put it in the intro recap of every episode for that season.
It isnāt really shocking for a rape scene, it isnāt even shocking for a fantasy series. People got shimmied and shimmied fucking hard. Thatās the only reason theyāre mad. They thought they were gonna get some cutesy show and got hit with the bad end of a D&D campaign.
Nah.
It is the modus operandi of modern non-live action Japanese motion media dreck (I wonāt insult past works by calling it Anime) to gore and rape all things ācuteā re: modern vomit-inducing Weebotaku paedo character designs.
Everyone expects it.
And it is still stupid senseless shock schlock.

It is a large part of why Anime has been dead to me since, oh, circa. Champloo.
The godawful design āstyleā also playing a large part.

He ruined Jordan.
Donāt mistake me - Jordan did a lot in the last four books he wrote (or little, as was) to harm his story.
But Sanderson was given almost total free reign to do what he wanted so long as certain basic criteria were met re: close the gap to get to the last few pages of the last book, already written by Jordan.
And he screwed the pooch royally.
I do love that a mega fan, poring over the volumes of notes RJ left, discovered that Jordan DID in fact intend for Taim to be Demandred.
Donāt get me wrong - Mistborn was thoroughly solid, if just solid.
But his new series is so mindnumbingly boring, that as I forcibly hammered my way thorough the first book, I felt the spirits of the trees who formed the pages crying out in pain.
It was not the pain of their deaths.
It was commiseration with me.

I agree about Jordan. Brandon ruined Mat, and the last three WoT books are just a little bit better than everything past Lord of Chaos.
But I strongly disagree about the Stormlight Archive. I love the world building, the magic system is SO fucking dope, and both of the first two books are a slow build-up to an incredible payoff. I have the third volume but havenāt started it yet because of Rocket League. I look forward to reading it, and this conversation actually might be the spark I needed to finally pick the damn thing up. So thanks for that.
Also, the first Mistborn book was great, but I wasnāt as keen on the second two. Though I did thoroughly enjoy Alloy of Law, and, from what I understand, there are a couple more books in that series that I need to eventually get to.

So Iāve been listening to a lot of Satanic Metal lately (Namely Ghost) and been posting youtube Links of it on my Facebook with lines like āgive you soul to Satan!ā āHail Satan!ā āpraise be to the morning star!ā Etc. And today before work my mom called me and she was like āwe need to talk.ā I was like āum, k?ā She was silent for about 10 seconds and stuttered out ādo you really worship Satan now?ā I bust out laughing and tell her āNo. I do notā she sighed with relief and was like āgood. Whenever you leave this earth I want you to go to heavenā confused I replied back āMom thatās silly. Iām an atheist you know thatā she got really mad at me screamed āI love you!ā and hung up.

Wheel of Time was pretty amazing for the first 3 or 4 books, but the story quickly came to a crawl after that. I donāt think Jordan would have ever finished the books, if you looked at the progress he had made story wise when he died. I remember reading one of the books twice on accident because thatās how indistinguishable they were from each other toward the end. Did Sanderson give Mat his stupid wife or was that Jordan? I remember absolutely despising that character. In the end I just wanted to finish the books for closure, I really think it could have been 5 or 6 books and a much more solid series. I liked the Sanderson books more than the previous 3 by Jordan.
