A friend of mine and her husband recently lost his family dog, a pug named Pip. Who happened to be a pirate. He was missing his right eye.
Well, there is a place in Seattle that makes hand made plushies. Namely pugs and rolls of sushi. I emailed the owner and told her the situation and what I wanted to do. She said sheâd be more than happy to help.
She made a private web page on her Etsy so I could put my custom order in and even gave me free overnight delivery because she was so touched by what I was doing. Itâs still going to take 6-8 weeks to make because of her schedule (her company travels all the PNW cons) and because itâs a custom order but free overnight shipping was a very nice of her.
Iâm so excited for them to get the plush. I know how much that dog meant to them. And it makes me happy that I can give them just a little piece of something to remember him by.

She was the manager at the comic book shop I use to go to when I still played Pokémon TCG and Heroclix. When a mutual friend (who at the time was my best friend/mentor/father figure) of ours opened a new comic book/hobby store she was hired as store manager and I was basically her underling but not in a negative way. I purposely asked to work under her. She always defended me and stuck up for me when my supposed friend/store owner always talked down to me, give me shit about stuff and talk about me behind my back. Which I always appreciated.
She also taught me a shit ton about the business side of hobby stores, relating to clientele, etc. itâs the reason why when she got super sick I worked at the shop a month straight with no questions asked. I didnât even ask. I just did it so she wouldnât have to worry about the store while she was in the hospital.
We ended up becoming really good friends. I miss hanging out with her watching Vizmedia sailor moon dubs before opening the store.

so apparently, the new side work project I have has it where you can gain early access to the schedule if youâre logged in early enough for your shift and complete your tasks youâre given.
Needless to say, Iâve set myself up with enough time next week to pay for some stuff I want.
