“What good comes from physically assaulting a politician?” What good comes from letting people in leadership spout hateful nonsense? We’ve seen what happens when hateful people in power are left unchecked whether by words or physical actions.

unless the kid had an uzi instead of an egg. yeah, you kinda do as a politician. you don’t always get the luxury or benefit of the doubt to behave and react like most people might react in a given situation. again, most politicians know this. it’s why they have police and professional security when at a public venue. it’s why politicians usually get egged from a distance because they have security around them to keep the public from getting too close.
you must be confusing me with another poster. i haven’t even commented on his post-shooting comments. in fact, the issue of his comments about the shooting aren’t germane and tangential to me.

Since I don’t believe in attacking people unless they say something threatening, then I guess the kid who got bodied. Attacking politicians causes friction between the populace and distracts from this tragedy. Instead of focusing on the bullshit the senator said, we’re here discussing the asswhooping he got from being dumb.
That means his attack is an abject failure because it distracted from an important conversation. Any way you want to spin it to feel good, that attack essentially failed.
He assaulted somebody, got bodied for it, created friction even more friction between political sides and warped the conversation. That dude is a next level dumb dumb.

anning is getting shitted on for his comments in his home country by the prime minister, the ex–prime minister and the soon to be prime minister and practically every politician in that country. they can’t backpedal fast enough away from that guy. which is interesting since he made similar comments in the past and nothing happened. us media isn’t doing him any favors either. every story i read mentions his comments about the shooting.

Any suggestions on how to help my wife be sick proof? She had a 100 degree fever like a week and half ago, something that’s going around. It knocked her down for 3 to 4 days… Now she has another 100 degree fever today.
I don’t really get sick because I used to be sick ALOT as a kid due to really bad asthma. So I used to catch everything but now things like that will bug me for half a day and then I’m fine. She apparently was never sick as a kid so I don’t think she ever got the immune system for that. Plus she told me in Israel the flu isn’t really a thing… Which is kinda wild to me.
So any suggestions on how to build a immune system up?
Make sure she has a source of B12 (beef), zinc (nuts), potassium (bananas), Omega 3 (fish fat), Vitamin D (yogurt), and Vitamin C (lemon) in her diet and regular exposure to cold. She will still be vulnerable to many viruses and some bacterial/fungal infections, but it should speed up her recovery.

Most important thing is good hand hygiene. Wash them whenever possible, and she should try not to touch her face if she hasn’t just washed. Alcohol based hand sanitizer is a good second, but real washing with soap is better.
Next thing in order of importance is annual flu vaccinations.
Least important but still helpful is taking vitamins, particularly vit C and zinc.

The rate at which influenza and other flu inducing viruses mutate make vaccinations for them ineffective.

You’re still demonstrably better off getting the vaccine than not. Even partial immunity reduces the severity if you do catch a mutated strain.

Not really. The antibodies created by the body for a particular set of strains have little to no ability to bind to the mutated strains and that is a requirement for initiating an effective immune reaction. It is practically a placebo.
Funny story- I never got flu vaccines, until I did one year. Ended up getting the flu for the first time in years. Haven’t gotten one since, and haven’t gotten the flu since. Fuck a flu vaccine. You can science the fuck out of it all you want. My empirical evidence shows they’re a fucking hoax. For me anyway.
That said, I am completely on board with vaccinating your kids for measles and small pox and all that shit. Rabies, too. Definitely rabies.

I’ve never had the flu so I never saw a reason to get that. Still haven’t had it… Worst thing I’ve gotten was one of those super stomach viruses from a few years ago that no one could prevent from getting. Like projectile diarrhea while vomiting
There is definitely no excuse not to vaccinate your kids against all the easily preventable and crippling diseases. Even vaccinating yourself before traveling is a good policy.

Eat a lot of fatty foods with lots of corn syrup and sugar. Sit around all day and don’t expend too much energy. Drink. A lot. And smoke at least a pack of cigarettes a day.
