It mutes notification, doesn’t make them Hidden. That feature request should go in the Feedback forum, and you probably want to loop in Neil or other Discourse staff about it. It’s a good idea.
Played MvC2 down at Ground Kontrol in Portland last weekend. The right stick had lost the nuts from the bolts, so the only thing holding it in place was the dust guard at the bottom of the stick. Incredibly shitty, but yet an excellent equalizer against the people I was playing against. Turns out if you can’t block you might lose a few. I highly recommend Ground Kontrol if you’re in Portland: Killer Queen is excellent, the game selection is excellent, and you can’t go wrong with barcades.
I’m pragmatic. No idea where the idealist shit comes from: think that’s a common misconception. There’s no reason you need morons on any site, any more than you need to allow assholes to attend your house parties. My tendency was always to ask people to stop their wicked ways, and if that didn’t work to give them a timeout to work through their issues. Most everybody is terrible when they start and then they level up. Some people do just want to keep crapping on the floor, though, and it seems healthy to just show those people the door if they can’t get sane. Insisting you need to cater to bullshit seems massively unhealthy, but then again I’m in this for the community, not the lolz. But – gave myself the birthday present of abdication, so it’s not my problem no more.

Dorky’s in Tacoma has an authentic MVC2 cab. Seems like everything works except nobody hardly plays it.

I feel old. Now I can relate to the stories of what the old pro wrestlers were talking about (stuff like making not a lot of money in fighting games, but now there is money in fighting games). James Chen reminds me a lot of the old school wrestlers too…
The problem with Dorkys mvc2 cab is that they have the damage set to maximum which makes it suck imo.

Dorkys use to have a Japanese ST cab yeeeeaaars ago. Like when they first opened but they got rid of it for whatever reason. I was so upset when they got rid of it and replaced it with CE.
