Before that MK was a joke MK on the 64, MK Gold, and all the very bad ports and sequils on the PS1, Dreamcast, PS2 and Xbox were awful. So bad that MK9 had to do a hard reboot of the series.
And MK never took it self serious before UMK3
UMK3 wasnât taken seriously either except for by the small community it had. That game is ridiculously balanced. Like the only âbadâ characters were Cyrax and Sheeva. I remember watching EWA Shock playing in tournaments and watching his combo videos online when combovideos.com was still the place to go for fighting game material.
