Eh, it’s not all suck. SFV General still gets a lot of activity, and GD still lights up occasionally, particularly when “Politics” isn’t on hiatus.
Some people won’t ever make it past the new forum software, but I think SRK will pick up again when whatever next big fighting game hits.
This place is still a lot better than the 100 different Discords if you’re looking for anything with more depth than a chat room.

To be honest,the loss of many posters is equally bad as the new layout.
It was very “anticlimactic” to announce the death of the forums and then save it. I’m sure some would have stayed if they just announced a software change instead of closing it and then introducing this one.
There would be grumbling, but it would probably die down after a while.

Really the biggest thing that hurts this forum is the lack of endorsement and usage by big names and personalities in the community. I didn’t join this site until around when sf4 dropped but even back then I remember top players posted here regularly. You could come here and interact with them and discuss character match ups and whatnot. Now you gotta go watch their twitch stream if you wanna do that. I remember the times when this site flatout crashed because of the sudden influx of people when sf4 and mvc3 dropped. That will probably never happen again.

Big names too motivated to monetize their interactions these days. More power to them.
Bigger problem is that the forum owners don’t use their own product.
You know, fighting game info had gotten so balkanized that you could probably breathe life back in to this place just by curating links to all the Discords, Tweets, YouTube vids, and Google docs together in one spot. This used to be the place you could find the tech all together in one site.

It’s painful to admit it, but most of the donuts I loved as a kid are actually garbage tier.
Dunkin went way down hill at some point, and Krispy Kreme tastes like diabetes is actually a thing you can burn your mouth with.
Local bakery donuts >≥> all other options.
