The LOST thread

Lol, I’m pretty sure every black person in the show has been killed or worse. White people and Asians be runnin that shit!

old black lady is still around, but only because her husband is white.

Seeing as how I study these things at a university level I think its only fair to say I know a thing or two. At no point did I claim to be an expert, just more familiar than most. Also, I was talking about the show’s themes and motifs which are prevalent throughout the entire series.

they weren’t mentioned because they mean absolutely jack shit to the future of the series - they are done

im just waiting for the show to be done with, the whole thing has become so intricate and convoluted that im hanging on just because ive followed it for so long not because i have any sense of whats going on

i want to know if claire is dead also :frowning:

Yeah? Either way, you’re not a LOST expert, so why don’t you find somewhere else to be.
Why are you even talking about a show you don’t watch in a thread dedicated to that one show? Absolutely ridiculous. Way to show your university level off.

I’m going to call Shenanigans on this. Clair wasn’t in the episode until the very end. For a second I thought they were going to retcon her or something. It didn’t even mention Christian meeting up with her, much less that apparently Christian apparently has met/spoken with Jacob and KNEW he was away from the island to get the oceanic 6 to come back. So, to say they weren’t mentioned “because they mean absolutely jack shit to the future of the series” seems a bit short sighted to me.

lol flexing the ego, it’s almost as if he thinks the average viewer should share the same “credentials” as him. The shows themes and motifs have been used in dozen’s of tv shows and movies, most of which in a far more obvious and nowhere near as entertaining manner.

Stupid people don’t watch Lost and enjoy it. They CAN’T. They’re the ones that say “I watched season 1 and part of 2, but it just got too weird for me”. Fuck that! Sign me up for complexity! The moment this show added time travel it became my FAVORITE show next to Doctor who.

Word. Time-travel handled correctly = awesome. Same reason I enjoyed Time Traveler’s Wife (Aside from Rachael McAdams), time travel was done right (well, kinda). For it’s complexity, it was pretty much spot on.

Something has occurred to me after re-watching the first episode of season 6. I know it’s something obvious, I just wanted to point it out.

At the end of season 5, Jacob told fake John Locke that he had found a loop hole. At the time, no one knew what that meant. You kinda figured it was that mystery dude that talked to Jacob when that boat was arriving, but didn’t know for sure. Since we now know that fake John Locke is the smoke monster, it tells us some things. The smoke monster can form into humans. BUT, only ones that have died AND their dead bodies are on the island. This is why we were seeing Alex (Ben’s daughter), and Christian (Jack’s dad) etc. He used them to manipulate everyone. Then, when he formed into John, everyone just figured it was another ‘island miracle’. When in fact John really is dead, this part is obvious.

I want to know what the black powder stuff is, and why the smoke monster can’t cross it. I also want to know what exactly the smoke monster is. Also, why John saw it as a bright white light instead of what it actually is.

im pretty sure the smoke monster formed as walter when john was shot in the stomach and left in a ditch

You have a point. Shit, I had forgotten about that.

Maybe that wasn’t the smoke monster?

it probably was Walt

I believe Christian is might have Actually been Christian. Either that or it was the smoke monster, and Claire is the person that destroyed the smoke ring. HOLY SHIT! Christian might be another Smoke Monster!

Who was it that told Ben he had to bring Locke’s body with him?

Don’t forget that Hugo met up with his mental patient buddy who never existed. Thus, there was never a body in the first place. Remember the guy in the robe who almost convinced Hugo to jump off the cliff because he needed to “wake up”?

Also, Walt appeared to Shannon way before he even left the island. But that’s not too fair, seeing as how Walt is so “special”.

Your theory does make a lot of sense, though. Like Eko’s brother Yemi appearing before him and Locke. His body was also discovered on the island, and he directed them around for a while…until Eko realized that that wasn’t his brother and “Yemi” turned back into the smoke monster and killed him.

I doubt it is another smoke monster, remember it was Christian that got Locke to turn the giant wheel thing that moved the island.
I still think Walt is the smoke monster aswell, his character doesn’t make sense otherwise, his ghost also put Locke on the path of manipulating Ben to kill Jacob. Walt must have died at somepoint (unless he is special like Desmond or a special being like Jacob) I don’t see how he could be real. They still need to explain how he accelerated in age within 100 days on the island.

It was Faraday’s mother I believe.

I forget but did they ever mention why Aaron was so important? I think the only way for the guy in black/smoke monster to “go back home” is through Aaron or maybe that’s how Jacob can get reincarnated…Uhh my head hurts just trying to remember things i wanted answers too…

What are the things that hasn’t been answered?

When Locke met Walt it was nearly 3 years in the Future, not 100 days.

Still not too sure on Charles Widmore’s agenda. He was with the others before but got kicked out because he had a relationship with some chick off the island. Jacob’s Nemesis (Smokie) said that he wants to go “home” more than anything. Maybe Widmore made a deal with Smokie in that he’d help him get “home” and Widmore would somehow be able to become the next Jacob and rule the island. Widmore told Ben that a war was coming. Also Jacob’s bodyguards told Miles that he was on the wrong side and that he shouldn’t accept Widmore’s offer to go to the island. My guess is that Widmore might have made a deal with Smokie somehow.

As for Desmond, I wonder if he’ll have a special ability to move his conciousness between the two different realities. Seems very obvious that he would.

Also Smokie said to Richard it’s nice to see you without the chains. There was a bunch of chained up slaves in the Black Rock Ship. 10 bucks says that’s where Richard came from.
