Great Fairy is a great weapon.
Only problem is you can’t dash cancel out of all the long animations after the charge attacks.

I just got that Great Fairy weapon actually. I lol’d.
Accidentally hitting a random Cucco in this game with a musou…
Cucco: Tonight…YOU…
Wizzro can turn into a Wall Master. Awesome.
I wish Iron Knuckle was a playable character.

One thing that kind of confused me with story mode is
[details=Spoiler]Midna says that Cia is responsible for “cursing” her (trapping her in imp form) but after Cia’s defeated absolutely nothing happens about it. She just stays in that form, even when she comes back later for the final battle looong after Cia’s gone.
She has a second weapon slot that was removed for I don’t know why

(You can see it at 40 seconds)
Pretty obvious what it’s gonna be but it’s weird that the current game just sort of completely forgot about that part of things.[/details]
EDIT: Also, somebody please convince me that Fi isn’t terrible (if you disagree with my claim that she is). I can’t enjoy this character at all and she seems very weak.
For some reason, I have a hard time beating this mission.

My base just gets swarmed and I can’t clear it out in time. I’m pretty sure I have to beat the messengers and not worry so much about the bombchus, but I still get swarmed.

No, worry about the bombchus. Kill the northern one first, grab a messenger or two if you can, then make to the bottom right bombchu, kill that.
Then kill the central bombchu - it should be in your base at this point, but you’ve got quite a while before it explodes.
After you kill that bombchu, clear out any elites near your base. Then the gate northwest of your base should be open and a large invading force should be on it’s way, go beat the crap out of that (focus on the elites). After that, just take the keep further on (the one with the key), running back and clearing out your base if it gets invaded (it probably will…it also helps to take the keep right above your base at some point…and focus the elites as always)
Had a problem with this mission the first time but then B ranked it with absolutely no problem the second time. I’ll go back for the A rank now and edit with any further relevant advice.
EDIT: Yeah, that’s what works.
- Claim the outpost you spawn in front of.
- Immediately go kill the northern bombchu.
- On your way to kill the bottom right bombchu, you should be able to intercept and kill a messenger.
- Leave the last bombchu alive (it has a long ways to go) and go take the base above your keep. Should be easy even with a weaker Midna.
- Finish the remaining bombchu.
- Go northwest of your base through the gate, kill the two moblins in that giant crowd of enemies. Wipe out a bunch of crap while you’re there if you feel like it.
- Rush back to your base and apply some heavy duty keep cleaning - it should be crowded there now, but at absolutely no risk of falling.
- Go take the keep with the key. I didn’t worry about the fairy, if you feel you want it, you can probably go get it.
- Finish the level.
680~ KOs wasn’t enough for an A rank, by the way, but I cleared that level without a problem.
EDIT 2: Extra derp, I thought this was a Midna locked mission because of the reward. Whoops. Fixed

[details=Spoiler]I think it might have to do with the fact that despite you beat Cia, she never directly lifted the curse. But I think what could have happened is that she returned to normal after going through the portal that Lana made, but was re-cursed again at some point since due to the fact you’re still able to access the Twilight Realm, the Mirror of Twilight is still intact; so this is all taking place prior to the events of Twilight Princess (or right around the beginning). So perhaps when she returned to her time, Zant re-cursed her as per the events of Twilight Princess, but before the final battle, since I don’t think you actually killed Zant, you just defeated him.
Note that I’m only on the “Return of Ganondorf” part of Story Mode so I don’t know how the dialogue plays out during that portion of the game.
The easy explanation though is that it was probably an oversight on their part and they never made true-form Midna to go along with that part of the story. :P[/details]
Also your av makes me want to make a Midna av of my own…
So this is a bit of fan wankery so if that’s not your bag skip but this pertains to HW timeline placement and important things to note
Spoiler
So despites Aounuma’s claims that HW is an alternate universe affair it actually contradicts the timeline in no way and gives a lot of clues both obvious and hidden as to which timeline and where it fits within the timeline.
With that being said lets get it out of the way now, Hyrule Warriors is chronologically the last entry in the Child timeline.
Now lets cover some of the facts
There is no history from any of the other two timelines in the game, there’s the adventure mode overworld from the defeated timeline but that’s just a cool UI thing
First lets look at indicators that we are in the Child timeline
The biggest clue is given when we travel back in time, the three era’s we are sent to are from furthest back to most recent the Sky Era, The Hero of Time Era, and most importantly the Twilight era. Why is the Twilight era the most important thing to note? It is because it signifies no chronological breakup in or crossing over between realities. The Twilight Era is in the Child Timeline.
A smaller yet significant reference is the Majora corrupted Termina Moon, as Majora’s Mask is also in the Child Timeline
Finally the next important thing to note is how Ganon is sealed and not only does this again signify the timeline that we are in but this part gives a more accurate placement. Ganondorfs soul was sealed in 4 separate parts, this is how he was sealed at the end of Four Sword Adventure, Which was chronologically the last entry in the Child timeline. So HW is definitely after Four Sword Adventure.
Cia/Lana is the last Shrine Maiden. The Shrine Maidens while not direct descendants like Zelda is share the Blood of Hylia as the maidens them self have mentioned over time the bloodline dilutes as they are just regular people and don’t have the bloodline preservations in place royalty would (shoutouts to Zelda getting it on with her brothers and cousins). The shrine maidens power was weakening with each successive generation this is why Vaati was able to escape. So if Vaati could break free of the Seven Maidens seal on the four sword, your damn skippy Ganon was going to. So whats more powerful than the Four Sword’s darkness repelling properties? The Master Sword. What’s a good replacement for the power of the goddess that the maidens had? The Triforce of power. So Cia is not just some random plot device she actually has a place in the lore.
Yeah that pretty much wraps up my thoughts on the topic any additional comments should probably be spoilered as it’s possible not everyone has made it through legend mode and may not know some of the details
For those who didn’t see the DLC trailer in the Wii U thread
Just found out something slightly cool on accident so I thought I’d share it in the event people didn’t know. If you’re listening to music in the Music Player for Hyrule Warriors you can press the Right and Left bumpers move seamlessly between the different versions of that track that they used for the game.
Get the Link Amiibo…unlock the spinner item for Link in Hyrule Warriors.

Holy crap that looks awesome.
Was already planning on getting a Link amiibo so this is great.
Still need to 100% HW while I’m at it…
NO ONE HAS POSTED THIS YET?

I got so hype when I saw it that I just forgot to post it.
HW will be a great tide-over until this hits, and this’ll be a great tide-over until Zelda U. Still remains my favorite Zelda title thus far.
Me too. Majora’s Mask is my absolute favorite one. I wear a Majora’s Mask necklace almost every day. When I played that game in 2000, it did something to me. I hope we get some good characters from the Majora’s Mask pack for Hyrule Warriors.
