Posted this over on the Switch thread:
I’ve been wanting to try out the Zelda’s Ballad mod since it was announced but I may wait for some bugs to be fixed.
Meanwhile on my Switch, I still need to finish my first Master Mode run. I need to RE-UP good weapons from Hyrule castle, and finally take on the sliver & gold Lynels, and then head to the Geurdo section before taking on Ganon.
That feeling of badassness after you kill your first Sliver Lynel in Master Mode!!!
…and in under 4 minutes!!
Got an extra RAM stick, can finally play BotW with a stable framerate.
Thinking about starting my run over but only using 5 food/elixir slots at most. No raw ingredients either.
Dunno if I should allow Seared Steaks from Boko camps though. Iirc, they use only a single food slot but they stack, right?
How it felt fighting Master Mode Thunderblight Ganon:
Didn’t die or have to use Mipha’s Grace and fairies but damn that shit was tough!!
I’m about done with my Master Mode run.
I just need the final 2 memories to get the true ending.
UPDATE:
Finished the Master Mode run.
The portion of the Calamity Ganon fight when he gets super armor on top of health regen was annoying as hell!!
He kept gain bits of health in between parry opportunities.
I’m done with BotW on Switch, need to hop back on Astral Chain.
Future playthroughs will be on CEMU, and with the Ballad of Linkle and new Zelda’s Ballard mods.
Restarted my run. Normal Mode. No fairies or raw ingredients, only 5 meal slots. (no stacking food on the same slot)
Already did the Great Plateau shrines, tried to be slick and went straight to the Giant Horse.
That wasn’t a good idea.
I went through the higher road to avoid the Lynels, but ran into an Electric Keese and that damn horse didn’t dodge in time.
Got deep fried with the quickness. I hate the horse controls in this game.
I haven’t played my master mode run in a while. I was mostly travelling everywhere without using fast travels and was tackling all of the shrines in the different regions I travelled to before moving on.
I got to the last shrine in the Faron region (aside from Eventide Island), which was the 3 brothers shrine quest and said fuck this and haven’t played since lol.
TBH, i like it more in normal mode anyway, but i don’t have the heart to start a new run
Been wanting to replay that game for the longest time, but still broke.
If Metroid Prime Trilogy gets ported to the Switch, I’ll trade in my PC for it on the spot tho.
I’ve never played it so I hope it does. It was a Wii game though right, can’t you play that on an emulator?
I also need to get that Link’s Awakening game in Switch but I don’t really have the time to dive deep into a new Zelda game right now
Theoretically, you could play it.
But the controls are so reliant on motion controls that it’s just too janky to brute force it so you can control on a standard pad.
Man, I missed BotW.
Found a Luminous Talus. The weak point was on its back tho. Figured I’d have to leave it like Mike Tyson.
It’s annoying because I can’t one-cycle it tho. The thing kept moving too, so I decided to dump all 5 of my Bomb Arrows on it.
It started to rain.
Still could get to it and slowly hammer away though.
A thunderstorm started.
Fuck this game.
Edit: Gottem.
What?! That looks dope.
I’m curious to learn more though. Every fight looked like it was outdoors / are there going to be dungeons, shrines, etc?
Also, I’m not sure how excited I am to play as the big, slow, goron.
Huh? It’s Hyrule Warriors, don’t expect much in terms of puzzles, but you’ll be able to do some cool combos.
HW Definitive Edition (lol nope) is already out on the Switch if you want some gameplay footage. This looks more like either a sequel or DLC to it.
Edit: Aonuma talks a bit in this.
Yeah, I’ve never played a Hyrule Warriors game…
I think I need to talk a few days to process this. I was hoping the BOTW sequel was going to be a true Legend of Zelda sequel, with BOTW in the future with a lot of the destroyed buildings rebuilt and have better dungeons, castles, and a more robust/classic OST.
This looks fun, but not what I was expecting/hoping for, so I’m kinda let down (my own fault, then again they did mention it would be a sequel to BOTW during that reveal a year or two ago)… I just need a few days to come to terms with it. By the time the next update comes in two weeks, hopefully I’ll be on board.
First things first.
As confirmed by Aonuma, HW Age of Calamity is a separate project from the BotW Sequel.
More importantly, HW AoC is Canon. It’s a legit prequel to BotW.
The Zelda team was involved in everything about the new Hyrule Warriors, and it doesn’t seem to be DLC for Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition. (Guess that one really was definitive after all.)
Okay cool. I thought this was the BOTW sequel shown here…
I have been craving for news on that, and assumed this was the news for the sequel and they switched things up.
Okay, I can breath again, lol.
So what are these Warrior games like? Is it just like a 3D beat ‘em up game?
