Never once watched legend of korra, and never was a fan of Avatar either, but I do like me some P+
Yooooooooo, the guys at Destructoid got to see an early alpha build of the game. The screenshots shown are the same ones we’ve seen but they talk about the actual game:

I’m sad that it’s going to be so short, but I’m sure P* will give me plenty of replayability.
Somebody toss out that “Shut up and take my money” jpeg, stat.
MGR and Vanquish were “short” and yet every second was jam packed with badassery.
The only reason those games are short is cause Platinum doesn’t believe in fluff.

The earth bending ability is a slower but more powerful kind of power that can raise the earth, create craters and attack multiple enemies that are clustered together. Like water bending, earth bending is visually satisfying and feels like it has an impact in the game world.
Fire bending is a close-ranged ability, but it lets Korra move incredibly quickly. Air bending supports both long and closed-ranged attacks, and allows Korra to travel quickly.
Players can switch between the different abilities when in combat and even during combos. Conkey told Polygon the developers at Platinum Games were able to achieve a 45-second combo on an enemy with unlimited health.
“For example, they would start out with earth bending and use a strong attack that knocks the enemy into the air, then they would jump into the air and do a fire bending combo,” he said. "They’d then switch to air bending to dash through the guy and land on the ground, then they’d switch to water and juggle him in the air. Right before he landed, they’d knock him up again and just continue.
“It’s amazing how deep that system goes.”

As for Platinum’s perspective, producer Atsushi Kurooka broke down exactly what made the Japanese studio interested in working on this project (as translated through Robert Conkey:
"One of the first impressions with Korra was that [we] were blown away by how awesome the show was. The main reason [we] were interested in the brand was one, [we] were really impressed with how involved the story was and how detailed it was. It was just really fascinating to [us]. Just the fact that it’s so detailed and the fact that each of the bending styles is based on actual different types of kung-fu. The way that it’s actually animated is just really impressive.
“There’s more to it than that too. There’s the love story that they have, and there’s Bolin as the comic relief and the comedy in it is just awesome. [We] felt that it was an incredibly well put together and balanced show and [we] hadn’t seen something like that before … [We] felt like [we] could relate. In a lot of [our] older games, it was often that they had a serious side to it but it also had a tongue-in-cheek aspect. We considered it a challenge that we never really had to do it very strictly before, stick to a brand and actually realize that brand while still keeping to [our] way of making games.”

Of course Platinum would be Avatar fans… It just makes too much sense for it to be otherwise.
I have to give Activision a big thumbs up… I normally shit on them for their over-reliance on Call of Duty, but this sounds like they have at least a few people who still just want to make great games…
Damn, 4 hours long? Well Vanquish was 5 hours on average and that game was the GOAT 3rd person shooter I ever played.
We’re all gonna run the fuck into a statue the first time we do it too lol.

4 hours sounds pretty legit for a downloadable game.
It seems this game will be 15~20 dollars, as I suspected.

They can’t. It’s between Books 2 and 3. Unless Mako decides to switch women AGAIN…which does sound like something Mako would do and something Kamiya would get written for the hell of it.
