So you get stuff by playing Ranked? Interesting.
It’s the same as last season from what I read. Something like Kayle->Jarvan->Ryze skins
Last season was a Kayle skin for playing any 10 matchmade games and a Jarvan skin for getting at least gold ELO.
The special Ryze skins is given in official tournaments as a prize.
I could not play Kayle to save my life, she just seemed like she needed to farm like crazy in order to get her items.
Wtf? You guys only want to play ranked when there’s rewards in front of your faces?
P.S. I want gold really badz.
…Yes?
But seriously, prior to the rewards being mentioned, we were not on a CONSISTENT carrying potential. Ask Beees, Rev, Babygrenades, etc, my jungling was basic AT BEST. I was incapable of carrying BAD players. Nobody cares if you could carry 1-2 games if you’re also going to lose 1-2 games. So instead of playing ranked, I wanted to play normal to work out the kinks and experiment with free week champs. However, now that they have mentioned the incentive to play ranked, I have a reason to kick it into high gear.
BTW, since “rewards” is plural, “there’s” should be “there are”. GMAT may be done, but the lessons go on…
Then duo with me, we got that bot lane down.
So the ELO or competitive nature itself doesn’t matter to you, just that Janna skin and the other dumb shit
And yeah I noticed that it didn’t read right, I just woke up up my bad. GMAT!
Lessgo! Spending the next like hour redoing my mastery pages
Do I seriously need to grind Elo for that skin?
God damn it, PapaRhino, wanna duo?
I’ll be on as soon as I leave my job. That should be in a couple of hours or so, then we can grind the fuck outta this game.
NO LOVE FOR ME?? NEED GOLD! Seriously though one of you fuckers around my elo legggo
Correct. You of all people should know that ELO is not a clear indication of INDIVIDUAL skill (forgot which game you were sponsored for). Competitive nature does not exist until you have a clear indication of what the fuck to do, otherwise you are freely giving someone else points (ex/ Would you suggest to someone to just enter a regional tournament when they have never gone to a tournament or played outside their circle of friends?). Before competition, there is actually learning the freaking game. The ELO system is going to stay there, the people who are playing 1000+ ranked games and not getting past provisional are still going to be your teammates, therefore what you have to work on is making sure that you can play AND carry.
However, when they throw in those things that will not be available, even if you offer to pay with money, then all bets are off.
Since I actually like Janna I guess I have to get to gold again this season. What’s the threshold, anybody know? Is it 1500 or so again? Silver seems lower than it was last season, so I’m curious.
Gold is 1500 after yesterday’s update. And once you get to gold you don’t go down anymore, your tier is represented by your Top ELO now.
Too bad it doesn’t keep from the beginning of the season. I was 1570 earlier until my ELO decayed, haha.
Yeah sure.
Sounds good.
I agree  Getting better > grinding with retards and thinking you’re THAT much better. I want that skin too! Oh, I was sponsored to play a bunch of Fighters. Where individual skill reigns supreme! MAN-MODE!!!
But to answer your tournament question “(ex/ Would you suggest to someone to just enter a regional tournament when they have never gone to a tournament or played outside their circle of friends?)” Yes. Most certainly yes. You know how many complete scrubs compete in Evolution? Tonnnns.
Yes! I’m glad I was gold at least once this season. Now I can stop giving a fuck about ranked, I might even troll some kids who are being faggots.
Also I’m down for some games. IGN: Muhhphukka
The LoL webisite said that bare minimum for gold is 1500. I’m sure you and babygrenades could grind it out in an evening since you two are already close.
It’s gonna take me and BBM like all weekend to get past 1200
I guess that’s where you and I differ. Whenever I went to NEC or ECC I always took an honest assessment of myself. I entered when I felt confident that I could hang with the pros. People keep forgetting that casuals exist, so if you are going to a tournament for the experience/getting better you could always do it before the tournament (casuals, warm ups, waiting for it to start) and after (money matches, casuals, waiting for other tournaments to end). Hell, most of the novices who enter the tournament are just used as fodder so that the top players don’t get stuck playing each other early (because brackets are always fair amirite). I always suggest people to not throw away their entry fee just so that they can “experience” the tournament scene unless they’re trying to get rid of the early tournament jitters that everyone experiences.
