Yeah, just the team kick and all, I think I missed (or didn’t get) your reasoning for it. Is it just because you want it to be a more democratic process because it needs to start somewhere before we can really look into that. I say for the moment it’s just first in best dressed, whoever can get on at the right times, and show they’ve played the game before and haven’t just borrowed their mates lvl 30 account. Not to be a dick, I love the idea of leveling up the whole community, I want to be a part of it, but right now I’m more interested in getting things running than success on any level.

My reasoning behind the team kicks (everyone is gone except for me) is to make it a more diplomatic process for sure. I don’t want some players that could deserve a spot on the core ranked competitive team to get fucked over because they didn’t get a chance to show off their stuff and I just picked favorites based on who I play with the most or personally think would do well.
I want to start on getting a schedule together and getting this going, which is why I asked for everyone’s time of availability. I don’t know when I should ask you guys to be on or what have you so I’d feel bad if I scheduled something for like, 6pm Sunday or something and only one guy could make it and shit.
But I largely agree, I’m going to go with the people who I know want to actually play this game a lot and get better. Not people that say “Oh yeah let’s played Ranked 5s and get better!” and go play fucking Batman Arkham Asylum for 4 hours.
I’m not a humongous fan of making things into a schedule. I used to do WoW arenas like that, but shit started to become less fun. You started noticing small errors that would annoy the shit out of you like server latency causing mistimed spell reflects, heals going off but the person dying within that time, or people lagging and teleporting all over the place. I’m fine with doing normal 5s until there’s a group where the 5 of us can que in for a ranked game for a challenge since we already know what we need to do and just have to outplay the other team.
Graves is free to play this week, maybe I’ll give him a shot so I don’t tunnel vision with corki. Corki is still a ton of fun, but I am confused about something:
Everyone says to level Q,W,Q,E. His Q is great damage, I’ll agree, but he just doesn’t seem to be able to all in and destroy people until he has gatling gun. If I do early harass with Q, then I won’t have enough mana to E and W at level 4. Can’t I just level W, E, Q and still have all ins?
That sounds pretty smart, actually. Never thought about it, but picking a hard snowballing jungler when lanes are more bound to be aggressive can be pretty high-risk high reward.
If we don’t have specific times when everyone can get on and play then the point of a Ranked team goes out of the window.
The chances of having our 5 good players on at any random time is horrendous, I’m sure. This means we’ll get virtually 0 practice time in as a team, which is essential, which was the biggest problem with the last team I tried to Captain, we never played.
Whenever they all got on, they all just wanted to hurry up and play Ranked 5s, that’s the worst idea ever, we never discussed team comps or roles we wanted to play for the match and didn’t setup our Skype calls until we were in game, we of course lost almost every game because of raging at other players and bad mistakes that cost us games.
It was a fucking nightmare, I’m not looking forward to having another one.

High risk/High reward is why I have been ignoring those champions in the past. However playing safe does not work if EVERYONE isn’t playing safe. There have been countless games where I gank like a boss and we still lose because of team comps or some other bullshit with safe champs like Nautilus, Maokai, Amumu, and Alistar, but there have been absolutely 0 games where I gank like a boss with the snowball junglers and lose.
Problem is nobody is at that level of being good. Just about everyone has at least one lane that they cannot play well, and that makes a huge difference. Ganking top and mid as a jungler is cake because I know how to play those lanes and know the capabilities of most champions, however when it comes to ganking bot I am always assuming that an AD carry with auto attacks is fine. After playing AD carry some more, I have noticed that mana is a big deal most of the times and item builds are even more important since it’s 3v2 instead of 2v1. Small things like that are what will make doing ranked games more of a coin toss instead of outplaying people.

It’s not like the skin has anything special aside from the model change itself. I thought they were remaking it a-la PFE or something.
Because you want people to practice doing ranked when they should be practicing doing things that they are not good at. I learned a shit ton about jungling AFTER I learned more about top and mid (common ward spots, burst, baiting, paths that people use to escape ganks, etc). If people don’t know the game it is pointless to do ranked. You play normals to learn, you play ranked to see how good you are. ATM, I can pretty much say none of us that have expressed interest are at the level to confidently play ranked.
Maybe it’s a milestone reward for the end of S2, like having Gold ELO or something
My computer needs a new mother board. Hopefully I’ll have enough money in the next 2 weeks to fix it. With my kids going back to school next week I should be free to play m-f from 1-3 and any time on the weekends.

I hate jumping in without knowing good comps and knowing team syngery, that would be pointless.
I want all of us to get on and play lots of normals though and practice together.
