The last ROM thread...info on how to perform the ROM infinite inside

gonna try it later on but does it matter if you hold d. for all of it or can you only hold it for the 2nd hit?

it doesn’t. but NOT holding down makes it easier for you. Why?

  1. holding down after mk could make you sj for the 2nd rep and so on.
  2. you’re gonna have trouble doing an estimate in height during the nj.lp

up-forward to start the jump, down immediately after, let go after mp or mk

^^ that’s the correct execution.

get that down and the only thing you’ll have to practice is the timing.

i got a question. am i supposed to just supe rjump straight up or super jump up+forward while doing the ROM?

^ it doesn’t matter when learning, whatever feels right. You can sj up-away actually.

edit: this is a ROM thread that people look at so maybe somebody can answer this. Have you guys ever seen anybody quick enough to Rom, land, DASH under, sj LP, LK, and back to ROM-- same combo? Because it is possible to land deep enough to cross up with sjLP and it is possible to dash for a couple frames in between SJumps. Am I nuts?

^^ well the problem i’m having is that, whenever i addf lk lk, i cross under to the other side most of the time, is that supposed to happen? after i cross under them it messes me up :x

^ just do the capture move, sj straight up LK, LK very quick, then addf LK, pause, LK.
Try to clip them in the shoulder with first set of LKs.

Practice on the slow setting for a little while. Just try to do sj, addf LK a whole bunch of times. THats the second part of ROM, but its the hardest to get down pat.

Im pretty sure ive seen magnetro link that in a video. It may have been a programmable pad, but i would imagine it would be very possible to do with your hands and not get the reset.

wow this thread is still living???:bgrin:

No, you can do that by hand.

finally!

i finally got the rom. i can do up to about 22 hits with it. then i went to the arcade. i was so wired i kept doing it too fast. i see how much practice you have to put into this. in competition your hands work differently.

The way I do it is the slide method and I use my index and middle finger on the LP and my ring finger on the FP to to slide so you middle and index should slide to the LK

i use the slide method as well. i really got it down now. i’m working on the rom with sent currently. Also i’m learning some much needed rom resets. for some reason they are hard to find in one place. i do study yipes and have found some very good corner throw resets.

Ok, I can do the launch, sj. hk, addf lk, lk, but after I land and try to sj and continue with sj. lk, sj. lk, the sj. lk after landing whiffs.

Is it just a timing thing?

the fuck? After you addf do you use the d.lk version of the short? And if you do, try to sj fowardand land a short after you land. Tell me what happens.

d. lk? Uh, I didn’t use that. :looney: So after the addf I do d. lk, then just neutral sj. lk?

Oh, and to clarify somethin, after the first initial sequence leading to the inf, I have to do somethin I didn’t include, at least I think I do- sj. lk, sj. lk, addf, d. lk, sj. lk?

I need to look up different ROM versions to see if I find any easier, but this already does seem easy, just gotta work on it.

Thx for your help.

yeah use the d.lk for when you addf after the launch combo… And what you said about the first sequence is right.

it is timing and it depends on what character it is. On Cable… after launch do the HK then lk pause lk. Cable should be about half a Cable off of the ground or more. The lower he is the faster you have to press the lk after you superjump. don’t do the addf lk’s too fast either. there is a tiny wait in between the sj. Hk and the first lk don’t forget.

I had just one quick question and I’m sorry if it was already answered but I didn’t really have the time to go through all 21 pages posts to look.
to start the combo do you have start with a fk, add, lk, lk after launching or can you just launch and go lk,lk add lk, lk
