This thread is great. ive been practicing the rom for about an hour all together, and ive gotten 1 repeat of it on cable. i think im starting to get it. im suprised this is learnable on a ps2 controller. only problem is my timing of the super jump after land its gettin closer i think. practice makes infinites!
btw it took me about 10 games in the arcade to get the 1234 aduf 1234 after some one showed me the rhythm, its all about the rhythm(sp).

1)is that ROM rep that soo did on jwong only good on sent.?

2)are there certain characters where you can ROM while they are JUST standing?

2. Only one I know of is sent… however i’ve done a few reps on juggz with only only one lk on the way up. Timing for these inf is diff than rom however.

I almost got it down but I’m having a few problems. When you super jump and dash down can you go straight up and down on a bit forward on the dash down? The other problem I’m having is getting the entire thing to combo, I can keep the character in the air and all but it’s not comboing. I don’t think I have the correct timing when I dash down and do the 2 .lks.

 Once you get use to rom you understand better that you can fool with it alot on how it works and change it up the tempo for it depending on what your doing.  Romming med characters I believe the easiest rythm is sj.lk,..sj.lk, then as fast as you can dashdownfoward with downfoward lk make sure to hold down because a different weak kick comes out then another regular weak kick without holding down while landing.  Something I see alot is no one posts that depending if you hold down or not on the kicks really changes the position of the character while preforming the rom.  Like for example if you were to hold down the entire time a medium size person would be brought up to high for the rom to continue to combo.  Only in cases in the big 3(sent,jugg,bh) can you hold down the entire time because they fall so fast.  My advice is on romming on big characters to do sj.lk,sj.lk,ad/df.lk,lp,lk this to me is the easiest rom variation to do on big characters because it always keeps them at perfect height.  Well once you get the rythm down it will be possible for you to switch up rom variations.  I hope I answered your question anything else just ask ^_^.

added: sj.lk,…sj.lk, so you know the dot dot is like a short delay you should hear magnus make like grunts sounds everytime he hits the chara try to go by the sounds like hrr,…hrr,hrr,…hrr something like that only the weak kick coming down from the air dash is immediate everything else has a slight delay.

I know there is alot of members helping this infinite, but i just learned it today, can you imagine that, January 24th 2005.

I basicly superjump with lk lk, and then I hold down and hit [lp+hp+lk,lk] all before i land, you want to make sure you hit the lp+hp+lk all at the same time and after that one time pressing the button you just tap lk alone before you hit the ground and repeat.

you’ll notice that you’ll have to adjust your hand a little bit, but i guess i’ll get use to it.

I think I’m gonna have to get a stick because I don’t think I can do the ROM on pad. I can’t addf lk lk fast enough to continue the combo. I’ve been told I play weird because I hold the DC controller almost sideways and press everything with my thumb and this is the first problem I’ve have doing a combo playing this way. Poo

lol, when i used to own the pad, i would always set the dreamcast controll like this. My right trigger would be my punchesx2 and my left trigger would be my assist 2, the only problem is that i can’t use my assist 1…but the good news is, i can do as much infinities as possible with magz.

Ok guys…i’m tired of seeing the same threads on how to do the rom infinite…so im gon make a thread to try and end ALL the ridiculous threads

ROM INFINITE
c.hp, sj.rh, ad df lk, ad.lk, land, [sj.lk, sj.lk addf, ad.lk, ad.lk, land] - repeat in brackets

Ok…those are the commands for the ROM infinite, the trickiest part of this infinite is the ending on the combo…the airdash into the two lk’s. A good way of putting it is to cancel the airdash into lk’s as quickly as u can. There are two techniques in which this can be accomplished

The slide method
after u superjump and do the two lk’s on the way up, put the stick in a df position and put your index and middle fingers on the two punches, then slide your fingers down and let your index finger hit lk, but dont let the middle finger hit anything after the slide. This results in a quick airdash down/forward cancelled into the lk, which is the “hardest” part of the infinite. After u perform that part just press lk again to end ONE rep of the infinite. Takes a bit of practice but the easier method out of the two IMO.

The thumb method
Place your thumb on lk, index finger on lp and middle finger on hp.
Superjump and do two lk’s on the way up with your thumb, then press the two punches down with your index/middle finger and quickly follow it up with pressing lk with your thumb…almost at the same time, but not quite. This accomplishes the ad/df lk part of the ROM, then just do another lk with your thumb to complete one rep of the rom infinite.

Those are your two techniques on how to do the hardest part of the ROM…study it, practice it, master it, stop making threads about it. When u can do one rep on the infinite then just start over once u land…and bam…u can do the infinite.

Ok onto the timing

TIMING ON ROM INFINITE
Alright, this is for the people who can do the rom infnite but their opponent keeps gettin higher for every rep they complete. This is how the rom infnite should go when being performed.

The two lk’s on the way up should be done relatively quickly, so when u superjump press the lk’s with no pauses in between, after the 2nd lk, pause for a bit then do the ad/df lk part, then pause again for a lil bit and do the 2nd lk right before you land…this should keep the opponent a a good height for u to keep the rom going.

sj. lk, sj.lk, pause, addf.lk, pause, ad.lk, land, repeat…thats how the rhythm should go

so thats all i feel like typing for now…anyone who would like to contribute to my cuase for ending all this ROM thread madness…plz feel free;)

make sure you get d+LK, it causes a weird hitstun animation (that pushes the opponent lower) and is the ONLY reason any of mag’s infinites work

yeah if the opponent gets too high just do one lk on the way up and two on the way down…
if you find it difficult there’s nothing i can tell you to help you except to practice. That’s all there is to it.

aight this is my first post on this site although i registered a long time ago. anyways i learned how to do the infinite at gamefaqs but the board there seems to be dying.

i think i have the infinite down to the basics but thats only in training mode. when i try to use it against the computer it always seems to mash out of it. i get as far as

c. hpx sj. hk addf lk lk land [sj. lk lk addf lk lk]

i get about one rep done before the computer mashes out so can anyone help me on my timing. i need to find a site that i can post videos on so i can post up my vid so someone can tell me exactly what im doing wrong.

first off, this isnt ggxx, so no one can mash out of your combos no matter how hard they try. when i do rom i sj.uf and add instead of addf and almost every time i see rom thats how people do it because it seems easier to land. there is a stickied thread on how to rom but ill tell you the timings anyway [sj. lk lk --pause-- add lk -pause- lk] the first pause is a little bit longer than the other pause. it would be better if you said where they fall out of rom because then you know if you let them get too low or work them up too high. m1x4h has a site with a video
that shows how to do rom and the timing on it but i cant remember the site so maybe he can post.

your lk have to come out almost at the same time with the air dash.and air dashing down instead of downforwards is easier if u are using the claw method.
