KOF XI was entertaining but it’s hardly known. Can’t really play with anyone with this game.
Maybe KOF 98 UM will do better (I just frickin’ hope it does), considering 98’s popularity. I really would just like to play a KOF fighting game with anyone. With out people to fight, there is no point in really playing the game. This is why i still play TKDR even if i am sick of it. There is just a wealth of competition here for that game (there is a specialist here for almost every character).
I`ve got a question, how exactly malin plays o KOF XI? since i used her quite a lot on 03 but now shes kinda nerfed…do i have to be more aggresive with her? is she good on the first position or should I stay stick with gato on the 1st postion and leave malin as 2nd/3rd
She can actually be a pretty good leader! Her LDM does considerable damage. Landing it off a sweep is hard if your opponent rolls (which they should) but in general you should be able to land it if your opponent so much as blinks in its range.
As for her playstyle in general, she’s DG already mentioned she’s aggressive. The main jump-in should be C, and I usually combo from that with C > fwd+B> qcf+B.
I’ve got some questions about the challenges in KOF XI. Specifically I’m having trouble with these:
15 + hit combo without using LDM/DM
Mai challenge (using mai beat all female characters with limited life regained after every round)
Guard Crush challenge (enemy has full life and only takes damage after a guard crush)
For the 15 hit apparently it’s easy to use Ryo and jump C, stand C, f,b,f+C but the standing C never seems to combo into the special.
In the Mai one, I just need some good combos to quickly kill off the CPU.
Guard crush, it simply takes too long to break the CPU’s guard and land a decent combo. The time always runs out and only half the CPU’s life is gone.
I used Kula for the 15+ hit. Some variation of her b&b, I believe.
For the Mai one, remember that you regain health whenever you kill the opp with a fancy move. LDM rewards you the most health, a regular hit rewards you the least. Save your meter for when you really need it.

Works every time! Unfortunately I’m now struggling with the guard cancel attack challenge. EX Kyo will guard cancel attack every time you attack him, i’ve read the easiest way to beat him is to use a normal > roll cancel then combo. The roll will go straight through his GC attack and end up behind him.You’ve only got a second to hit him, but it’s the best idea so far.
gamefaqs has all the answers to beating all of those challenges in a single try or two. and if you can’t do it then your execution/timing is sloppy. thats how i managed to beat challenge mode in like a lil over an hour to unlock all the chars.
you should worry more about playing against people for experience if you already have them all unlocked, and hh is where the fun is at.
Good thing I invested $20 a LOONG time ago for that save transfer kit thing. Like my friend once stated “fighters aren’t meant to be beaten.” That’s how I unlock stuff in all my fighters now.
Hey everyone, who would be a good character to team up with Kyo and Iori in this game, I’ve seen all of Pungko’s vids and I see that he uses Gato, Shen, or Duo Lon with them. So far I like using Shen, Adel, Kim, and Gato along with Kyo and Iori, but is there any other suggestions
