The King Thread

Partial command list from stream. Missing (I think) 1 command normal, which is probably his Zangief-like jumping splash. It’s also possible a special move wasn’t shown, not sure it’s all of them.

Super charge move is always at the bottom, so that’ sprobably it.

When it comes to command normals, doesn’t he have his multiple low kicks thingy?

His SC move is listed. I marked the spot where a special move would be missing if there is one (he scrolled up so it started from the end of the list and went up to Leg Screw.)

It would make sense if there was a :f::p::p: to go with Leg Screw. Looking back at it the scroll bar doesn’t seem like something is missing, but can’t say for sure.

Never scrolled down on the unique attacks page, so I don’t know what’s missing there, aside from the fact that the size of the scroll bar made it seem like there was only 1 not shown, maybe 2.

Yeah, it’s probably the other screw move that’s missing.

does he have decent anti air?

Are we getting the Leg Screw confused with another move? Because the first move list shows back + 3xP (anti-air) or 3xK (ground) for his reversal. Of course the move could have changed since the first list came out so I just want to make sure.

Also, looks like he doesn’t have a throw that immediately comes out of Jaguar Step like Tekken? That led to his chain throw, tho, so I guess there’s no reason to have that if he doesn’t have chain throws in this game. Plus, I guess we can just do either throw out of Jaguar Step anyway, right? Is there that much recovery after Jaguar Step?

nice! that movelist has the wheels turning. nice to finally have a more complete movelist to get an idea of what the character is capable of. saucy

i’m almost certain at this point that his chain throw starter is Reverse Arm Slam Combo but it’s an EX move. i’m also willing to bet one of the commands, for at least one sequence, is…

  1. qcb + punch
  2. strong, jab, jab + strong
  3. strong, strong, jab + strong
  4. jab, strong, short + forward
  5. strong, jab, short, forward

Has anyone seen jaguar step and its followups used effectively during a match?

I’ve seen people use it to get past fireballs, then doing the MP follow-up for a groundbounce. I’m sure people should be able to block it, but maybe they were blocking low and it’s an overhead.

And people, King has three chain throws, two of them being done automatically:
EX RASC (He always does the same two moves.)
Super
Super to Muscle Buster. (He does three grabs during his super. the 3rd one has two different variations)

I wonder if you can do jaguar step high drop elbow after his Knee reps to groundbounce for more combo potential

Nah, I think it’s too slow for that.

Sofor those that have had a chance to play King? Whats the verdict on him so far? How are his footsies?

The combo possibilities for hopkick are so huge. My mind is blown

And here we go.
Let the King dickriding begin ;_;

Finally my chance to play a good Mexican character. Really probable I am maining him with either Steve, Cammy, or Ibuki.

This. Although, honestly, King has always been a pretty popular character as far as the Tekken series goes. Maybe he was never the best, but he definitely has an iconic look (I think he’s more SF in his aesthetics than most of the Tekken cast). Have been planning on using him since his reveal trailer, and right now I’m just looking for some more info on Julia and Abel from Fingercramp and LUYG to see who I’ll put on point.

Really interested in King. His counters look interesting, but I am curious to see what their whiff animation is like. Anyone seen it?

Same here. Fuerte was fun, but he sucks as it pains me to say.

Still can’t wait to see the crazy shit with him and Xiaoyu.

King has an unblockable interesting…
